Used an excuse Monday for one interview and have another on Friday but feel like I’d be super shady to come up with another “my pipes burst” thing. Do I just take a personal day or other suggestions?

Hahahaha I’m in the exact same boat. My dog is gonna be sick Friday.

Are you saying you used the pipes excuse Monday? If so I’d just say that whatever they fixed did not fix. Be super annoyed, complain about the service/inconvenience, passive, simmering anger. But for real good luck

No excuse needed. Just say you have an appointment. You do.

I assume you’ve run through, doctor, dentist, eye, dog. Maybe a TSA pre check interview, DMW appointment, allergist, car repair...

Say you’re constipated now and took too many binders. Nah, for real, I would try to take a personal day. Once you say personal reasons people are usually meh about it. Maybe your landlord is stopping by unexpectedly? Or maybe your REAL pipes bursted.

Run to the bathroom late Thursday and make loud poop sounds while moaning in pain. Make sure people hear it

Honestly if you work at a larger place just leave for a few hours no one will notice. Think of those days your in meetings all day or off concepting in a coffee shop with your partner as long as you answering your emails people usually don’t question why you weren’t at your desk the entire day. If someone’s not there we all just assume peeps are off working on something, or in a meeting or an edit or grabbing lunch. Don’t overthink it.

What’s a good answer to the question “Why are you leaving so soon?” For context I have made 2 exit since last year. I was below average at the start of the pandemic and now quite a bit on the upper range. In each instance I was either approached by the recruiter or the hiring manager. Even now the most recent interview was when the company approached me through LinkedIn but still they asked me this question which is quite confusing. I mean you approached me and I like the work you do.

Hi! I see a lot of posts about offers saying people are getting offers below their current YOE or titles, and some about how many roles you can apply for. How strictly should we live up to a role’s requirements? E.g. if a spot asks for 12 years experience and you’re not close to that, is that a waste of an application?
