Used to work in the office, but WFH since March due to covid. How would you approach asking to move out of state and keep your job as permanently remote?

I just started a role last month but a role I’m more interested popped up at a company I was interviewing at in March. I don’t want to seem like a job hopper because I truly am not one. This role more clearly aligns with my personal and career goals. Is it a bad look to reach out if the other one may have disappeared because of COVID? Is the risk worth the reward?

Stock market weatherman here! Jobless claims up more than 1M, lowest since April. A second wave of COVID is on the way, no vaccine in sight. Stimulus has stalled. Tensions with China escalate. Weather model says these signs point to sunny skies 🌞 Not a cloud in sight, only higher highs.

Anyone feel like it’s not worth working around the hours anymore? Hard to stay motivated knowing that bonus and raises are cut, and promos are only for rare cases. Understand covid really hit us hard, but I’m still working just as hard and as much (if not more)

Putting aside the Coronavirus impact, are/were the airlines overpriced? Looking at the historical prices, I'm a little challenged to accept such high stock prices (pre-covid). Thoughts?

Looking for a good room divider while we’re WFH. My husband and I share an office, our desks face each other. I don’t want to look at the back of his monitors / the disaster on his desk anymore so looking for something that goes between our desks. Something that muffles sound would be good as well but not required

Seeing as WFH has no end in sight for my company, it’s time to invest in an office chair. Is there such a thing as an aesthetically pleasing office chair? Looking at Laura Davidson, but unsure of quality and comfort. Anyone have one?

Tell me I’m not the only one finding it SO hard settling into a new job that’s completely remote, within a pandemic? It’s been 5 months and I’m struggling so bad.

How do you all define bringing your authentic self to work. Growing up I was taught to have a clear distinction between home and work so I don’t really talk about my personal life at work (though doing it more in these Covid times) and it’s been like that for me working in all dynamics, be it predominantly African, white or a mixed setting. Don’t really talk about my family, what I do on weekends etc except with the select few people I have become friends with. For context I am west African.

Anyone tried to meet up with former or current colleagues in real life during Covid? How do you approach it? I’m going to be traveling out of state next month and want to reach out to people in that state.

Should I move to NYC in the fall for graduate school or take classes remotely for the time being? Would be coming from a low Covid zone and would obviously quarantine for the first two weeks. Question is around whether you think it’s “worth it”. 1/3 of my classes will be held in person.
