Just wanted to get a feel for whether or not this is a good offer as I don’t know many people in the industry.

Happy to answer any general questions about the process as well!

Chad offer. Congrats! I’ve never understood what it means when the offers I see on fishbowl says 1.5 DAW. My current offer was $150k 30 bonus .25Bps on all deals (vest over 3 years). Would you mind explaining the diff to me and sharing ur focus / industry

like

Then that’s based on a vesting/cliff schedule

VC associate straight from 3 yrs consulting, at a firm where wouldn’t matter how many YOE, 190 base, 50K bonus, and 100K DAW with 1 year cliff vest. Fund size >3B

Smaller funds tend to be more generous with comp because they have less brand power down the line and can’t always offer winning as competitive deals. I’m 8 months into the job and have had Principal roles floated to me at smaller funds with 400K base, 40% bonus, and significant DAW

UK based VC Associates crying reading it

Depends where you look. High but not totally uncommon, particularly for the 2/3rd year of associate. OP has 4y of experience.

That looks really strong - is this one of those "associate" offers that's after your two years of IB / consulting and two years of PE rather than the first investing job?

Sure

210 base is impressive

Any insight on the process? That’s a great remote offer!

For VC, I think this is a nice base comp

this is way higher than what I’ve seen personally

Good offer

Very solid offer. It may feel weird taking the cash cut from MF PE, but this is a solid VC offer and you’ll be much happier with your job and life

like

Greatly appreciated. Looks like you are still in PE, do you plan on staying the long haul?

Tell us what is the fund

funny

What is the multiple assumption for the fund on the $1.5m ? Base is too high / bonus too low = this is better for you ! Really great offer for associate level in my opinion.

Or some start ups go bust and you are at 0X. I personally treat it as funny money until you get it in your bank account.

Just make sure your in year cash is enough to live on for yourself and family

Congrats on the offer! Would also like some insight as to the process, as BoA said above. Some general color as to your background and how you sold yourself successfully moving from PE to VC would be awesome.

Sure - Did IB then MF PE. While doing that did some vc investing with friends on the side (basically found leads for startups and threw small checks behind them to start building a track record. Had some high profile deals that we were able to get into that stood out on my resume. About a year in after another soul crushing weekend and being told that while performing well, there was not a partner track seat at my current fund and I needed to get an mba, decided to start recruiting for other roles. Ended up getting 4 offers from vc to growth. After really digging into the growth roles, they felt too similar to what I was doing for less money so focused on vc. Tbh the hardest part was just vibing with the interviewer enough to get past the first rounds. The rest of the process was not challenging if you have done traditional buyside case studies. It’s all about fit , potential to source and ability to connect with the team.

Impressive! That’s associate level? 👻 I picked the wrong field.

OP has 4 years of prior experience

Crazy good base

Which company?

What’s the vesting schedule like on carry?

Not sure how much you can negotiate vesting schedule as it should be standard for everyone in the same firm

Fully remote too? This looks like a heavenly deal!

That sounds incredible. Assuming you are at a brand name fund. Any of those opps worth jumping ship for?
