Has anyone ever pulled out of an interview process because the company kept shifting the goal posts, either with salary or by adding more rounds last minute after the ‘final’ interview had already happened? What did you do? It’s exhausting

I did. But for a very different reason. One of the Sr VPs on the interview panel was a bully. So disrespectful. I kept my cool the entire hour and answered all questions professionally. But I actually felt violated afterwards. I didn’t want to work with this person and his complicit peers so I told the recruiter to remove me from the interview process.

Yeah I did honestly. It’s a huge red flag. I also recently rejected moving forward with an interview process because the compensation was way too low & I let them know that as well

I did. Everyone was very nice at first but then the title and salary kept getting bumped down as the interview process went on.--not because of anything I did but because the company had no idea what they wanted.

After all my interviews were done, they asked me to fly out and redo all the interviews because they "didn't trust me".

Turns out they weren't nice to the recruiter either so they lost two people in the process.

A ok to do this!

I shared my difficulty to recruiter as it will be a lateral move. He said he will get back to me in 1 day. Its been a week I haven't heard back.

Current apartment 2780/month: not moving = no brokers fee, brand new sparkly kitchen with new appliances, two parking spots, spacious bonus room, forced air AC, baseboard heating that costs $400+/month in the winter bc of bad insulation, kind of gross bathrooms with some tiles hard to clean/falling out of the walls, lots of small fixer-upper items like replacing curtain rods where the nails seem to be coming out from their holes, etc.

So I was one of two final candidates for a position. I was not selected and was fine. What I do find issue was being told they loved me and still want to work with me. They referred me to one of their vendors - pay is 50k less and I would be working for the person I lost original position to. I am under the impression they do not realize how insulting they came off. AITA for saying below my salary expectations and not in line w/ career trajectory goals? Thanks but no thanks

I have got a offer from JP Morgan, I had asked them for joining bonus which they declined but have told me they would pay me my annual bonus(pre defined in current organization) in January as incentive along with rest of organization. They have declined to give this in writing anywhere and have asked to have faith in verbal commitment. Is this a normal practice?

Of course, I have very little income to spare for additional training. I have an amateur freelance graphic design background and I’m teaching myself as much as I can, along with working on the Google UX Design certificate through Coursera.

I’m also trying to figure out how to best sell my teaching experience on a resume. I want to frame my data analysis skills, etc. any tips?

So I'm interviewing, have had loose salary conversation (talked about band but not specifics), and approaching the official offer stage. It's become clear the role is something I'm very well qualified for, but their pay expectations for the role are much lower than mine. Does anyone else feel that we’re being told “everyone is hiring” but no one is ACTUALLY hiring? More so, putting people through the ringer then saying “we’re on a hiring freeze/position put on hold”. People are not just candidates you put in your back pocket for a rainy day as much as agency’s may think they’re doing a justice by adding you to the “pipeline”. Just a ton of corporate buzz words all leading to “this job is on hold for now”. Recruiting has become a joke of a position

Context: I had callbacks at a big law firm while i was in law school and after one partner finished her questions and I finished asking my questions, she told me to ask her a really tough question, something to really stump her. l fumbled and am pretty sure that majorly factored into the rejection.

After 2 years of a pandemic and working independently for many years, I am not feeling interviews AT ALL. There are points in the interview where I want to just say "Look! Either hire me or don't".

I've applied and networked for my dream job and didn't get an interview this time.
