So I recently asked for an higher salary, which I have been given. My role and responsibilities are the same. I effectively received the agreed amount of money on my latest salary slip but I didn't sign any "new" contract. Is this normal? How does this work? This is my first salary bump and I don't really know how is it supposed to happen.

Anyone else really feeling the social isolation this weekend? How to transition from law to policy think tank?

I just started in workers compensation. I’m using the desk book as my primary resource and attended a few CLEs but I’m still feeling like I have inadequate resources and practical knowledge. Any tips on how to get up to speed faster? I feel like I’m letting my supervising partner down with my general lack of know how.

I work in ID right now. Second year, I’ve done everything up to trial. Looking to move out of ID. Hopefully bigger firm. So cal market. Trip booked in June, back end of June. Should I look for work now or wait until I get back? If I found something could get a start date in July?

I spent my week watching a jury trial for a partner on a case I’m not on. I am in my 4th year of practice and have never seen one. It was awful having to work late to get my billables in every day but I learned so much watching the trial!
