Promotion will need to start over with the new leader... not sure about the chance at this point(would have been high in the old org). Trying to figure out the options: 1. Stay on and ride it out to see how things go; 2. Switch to a new position given promotion may not happen and need to wait for another year anyways, and try it with new position next year with 1.5 years track record; 3. Leave the firm for other positions...any advice you could share would be great...
Same happened to me a few years back when we became FSO. Was immediately behind based on the new stack of people in pipeline and never caught up. Regretting not leaving then. Could have come back later and evened it out.
