I had my final round of SDE1 interview at @Dehaat 3 days ago, feedback came back positive and HR also had salary discussion. However just next day I got mail saying @Dehaat has temporarily frozen hiring process. Anyone working at Dehaat can tell me what is happening at @Dehaat currently? Was this mail just for me or the entire hiring process is actually on freeze.

4YOE @Amazon & trying to lateral to a similar role @FAANG. Have my undergrad GPA (3.8/4) on resume from top 15 school but colleague says to take it off (looks silly). If it’s a good school & high GPA, why ever take it off your resume? Even if 10 YOE...can’t hurt?

Corporate suggested me for a DON position in TX. I currently live in SD and work as ADON. Corporate said minimum salary would be 115k. Then flew me there for 2 weeks to see the building (nursing home). They all loved me, as does corporate. But my offer today was 90k. When I said I was told 115k they countered with 100k. I said I’d think about it over the weekend but really am looking for at least 110k. Have to sell my house and move and rebuy w higher interest rates. What do you think??

Our company bought another and there was a integration in-person meeting last week. Many folks were invited to go. I was not. I lead analytics/reporting team.
Now, my team and I are getting projects stemming from this conference. I was not invited so didn't get to speak on what we can do. Now reporting is needed and data is not available.

I’m likely just gate keeping and this is dumb. But, I was talking to someone who had 0.25bps of carry and he repeatedly referred to himself as a partner and constantly talked about how he needed to work with his partners (I.e., other mid level people) For me, you’re only a partner if you actually own the management company/have a claim on the firms net income. I didn’t really say anything, but just thought this dude was precocious.

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. If Amazon or any other FAANG/large co gets back to me, is there an acceptable way to not burn bridges with new job and accept or delay start date with FAANG? Or fuck it just hop?

Resume question that I struggle to answer. If someone has been working for ~20 years and has worked at a number of companies during that time (let’s say 10 for the sake of this example), the resume becomes way too long. Is it okay to remove the 1st couple of jobs that were held after college even if relevant? Or maybe delete a job or 2 if they aren’t 100% relevant to the rest of the person’s career? Final option is to leave names of companies (and titles) of early roles but delete the content.

Changing from Vacation and Sick Time to just plain PTO starting in Jan. Staff can save up to 40hrs of their accrued Sick Time banks to use in 2022 in addition to their new PTO.

We have a part-time employee with more than 40 sick hours who will try to use as much of their Sick Time as they can before Jan 1. If this person has an avg weekly schedule of 17.5 hrs, can we stop them using sick time if their sick + work time will take them over their 17.5 scheduled hours?

Hi! I requested a raise in late august and am still waiting on confirmation. Last update was 3 weeks ago from my boss who said he put in the request and is still waiting on approval. I can’t help but think they’re just delaying until the new quarter which is the normal raise period. Is a month and a half a long time to be waiting for this?
