Very off-law question: Since having my child I haven’t really worked out hard. Before, after a hard work-out, I noticed my sweat smelled really good. Just had a really challenging work-out and the smell is the same. It’s like Burberry is in my veins or something. This cannot be normal. Is this normal?
I though sweat was to smell bad?

Sweat in and of itself isn’t smelly. Bacteria is what causes the odor. Nevertheless, I don’t smell like perfume after working out but I don’t smell bad either

Lucky you! I just smell like old socks and BO after work outs, or who am I kidding limited physical activity since putting on the covid 10 that make me sweat 😅

funny

Bodies are weird! But also, since you mention having a kid, on the off chance you are taking any breastfeeding supplements that contain fenugreek, it can change the smell of your sweat to what is usually described as maple syrup-y.

However a new role in industry might not be as easy either and I'll need to prove myself, where as currently I'm already regarded as a high performer and gained trust.

Found a most enlightening work on decolonial history with tons of TIL moments especially about Anti Colonial movements in Egypt, China, Japan and course India in the 19th and 20th centuries. Most histories this period often adopt a Euro-centric lens but this book flips it and tells the stories of these turbulent times from the vantage point of the pioneering Asian leaders like Tagore, Al Afghani, Kang Youwei etc. Lovers of Asian history would surely appreciate this book

I (36F) am married to another woman (34F) and we have a baby (5moF). We split all childcare, cleaning, meal prep, errands etc fairly evenly and it works well. Maybe she cooks more than I do bc she likes it, and I clean more bc I need to have a clean house. My friend (35F) recently took a business trip and literally put a binder together with instructions for her husband re: daycare drop off and pick up, what to feed the kids, when to take out the trash and so on. I moved back in with my parents in August, and my mom and stepfather have demanded monthly rent. They are in no way poor at this moment in time, and in my opinion it’s f*cked up to demand your child pay rent. I bought a VR headset a couple weeks back and my mom increased the rent because “I can afford it.” Is this normal? I honestly feel used. Fwiw I’ve worked since I was 13, and hustled my entire life.

Hey ladies. I had a miscarriage July 2021 and my cycle started back up not long after. Then in January it just stopped. It’s been 3 months without my period and not sure what could be causing it (I’m not pregnant). My diet hasn’t changed and neither has my activity. I run marathons but I’ve been doing that for years now and it’s never impacted my period prior. I have an appointment to see my OB in a week but wondering if any of you experienced this.

Fellow millennial lawyers: tell me, in general terms, 1 or 2 clients you acquired and how you acquired them. I feel like the suggested strategies for developing business are always the same: network, build your brand (hate this phrase), market yourself on LinkedIn, etc. Does any of this work? Seems to me to that most business development comes from long-standing contacts (e.g. your childhood best friend is now CEO and needs legal services), so I’m curious how other attorneys developed business.
