Don't do it if you're sensitive to those types of sounds. You'll hear doors slamming in the stairwell and the garbage chute.
I agree it is an elevator building so not concerned about the stairwell sound. Just concerned about people dropping glass things down the chute at 3 in the morning

How many units on the floor? That should help determine how many peoples trash you’re dealing with (lol). My door is next to the chute but I very rarely hear people dropping stuff in.
Around 12 units per floor. But it is on a lower floor of a ~25 floor building so more concerned about ppl dropping shit from the top! Can you hear stuff travelling down the building?

Can you visit again and see whether you can hear the noise inside the apartment? Maybe you can’t even hear it. Otherwise, best to move on. If you’re worried about it, you obviously care about the noise. My most recent apt was next to the elevator and while I’m pretty noise sensitive, it wasn’t an issue at all.

My last apartment was next to the garbage chute and I never heard anything from it. There was a closet and a hallway on the wall closest to the chute though.
Lucky! I just remembered that I took a video during the tour and rewatched it with sound. Unfortunately it made a pretty loud sound so I’m going to have to pass.
I live next to the chute, the sound is a minor inconvenience that I rarely hear over the TV, but walking three feet with an overflowing recycle bin and a heavy garbage bag make it totally worth it
