Not a good look MAS. Classroom gatherings 🧐
I teach a self-contained special ed class for grades K-2, mild/moderate. I have a student with extreme behaviors, including destroying the classroom. My walls have been bare for months because he keeps tearing everything off of them. We will have open house in May. How can I "dress up" my room for open house without him destroying it? Should I collect artwork/work samples, and set them aside until the night of open house?
2nd year sped teacher. really struggling w equity in the classroom. feel like an an assistant and not like a teacher and the kids don’t see my co-teacher and I as equals. Suggestions?
Welcome to our pre-k inclusive classroom. Even with 8 students, and only face to face for 4 hours, we struggle. We struggle being heard through our masks. We struggle with social distancing. We struggle as we find ourselves constantly reminding students to keep their masks on. We struggle to keep them engaged and to teach. One thing we do not struggle with- building connections and showing out love for each child.
I am not looking for a fight, but I was talking about this and thought it would be a good place to poll the masses.
Opinions on CRT?
This upcoming year our school district is trying early release every Wednesday. I find it difficult to cover all the standards in a high school math class, and now I am concerned with having to modify/reduce our curriculum. It will take 10-15 minutes out of the period on Wednesdays. Do you think it will change what we can teach? A colleague suggested a flipped classroom. I teach in an affluent area that only spent a couple weeks remote learning for all last year. Thoughts on flipped classroom?
My daughter will be finishing school and in her own classroom for the first time this fall! I'm getting ahead of myself but I'd love to gift her a big basket of things (tools, supplies, etc) she'll need, especially the stuff that she might not think she'll need, along with just some fun things to help her settle in! I'd love some ideas of things you would've loved to receive when you were starting out?
Does anyone believe that this last school year during the pandemic was an epic failure? Who sees the last school year as a success? Please, explain. No judgment either way.
Anyone here not perform well at their university but found a lot of success outside of the classroom/post graduation?
I have been learning how to be more kind to myself this school year with it being my first year teaching in a non-traditional school with little to no training on how to run a classroom, let alone how to run it the way the superintendent & principal wants it to be ran. I have been learning as I go and some parents see it as inconsistency. So this is a friendly reminder for you to take care, be kind to yourself, we are all human and are here to learn. ❤️
I’m a longer term sub, and had my own classroom from Jan. until the end of this school year, due to the teacher moving out of state. I was told I was not getting paid because I am a sub..what can I do
Google Classroom and Zoom was on the fritz all morning. Lord, I have never worked so fast at multitasking of talking to a few students on Zoom, the rest of the students through Go Guardian, texting parents through ClassDojo, and calling parents. I was only able to teach math and science 🤣
Any suggestions regarding the recording of lessons? What’s the most efficient way to record and upload to google classroom for my virtual learners?
Moving to a classroom of assessment capable visible learners. Any ideas for anchor charts on the Art room ?
Anyone signing up for the classroom manhattan GMAT course? Trying to decide what day to have class 🤔
Folks- Are your kids (elem/middle) enrolled in any online 1-1 or classroom type teaching/extra tution ((US or matt be from India) outside whatever school does? My elem kid performance has degraded lately and would like to offer him some help besides whatever time I spend with him. Thanks
What's a rule you are expected to enforce that you strongly disagree with or are indifferent to. Do you enforce it or take the risk? I move around as a tutor and am currently working with a school that has a ridiculously strict formal address policy. One of my second graders refers to me as "Miss Tutoring (my first name)" - it's about the cutest thing ever and doesn't bother me one bit. We are moderated sometimes and I'm more worried about her getting in trouble than me for not abiding.
I'm still fairly new to this industry. I understand the basic concept, but can someone explain what the Strategy department does?
You know what rhymes with Friday? Alcohol. 💁🏼
No matter how much I fly, i still get anxious about getting to the airport, TSA, boarding the plane, IROPS, etc. Anyone else?

Hello, everyone! I was learning Python to be qa engineer and I finished courses in coursera and udemy, is any communities in NYC to help with first job and giving advices? Could you share with your experiences. Thanks a lot!
Got my bachelors in information systems management, but thinking of getting my CPA to help myself get to principal/partner level at a public firm or start my own someday. Would my best bet be to get a bachelors in accounting for the foundational accounting knowledge, or would I be able to manage and benefit from a masters of accountancy program?
Anyone maintain eyelash extensions? They seem like a great solution to dealing with eye makeup, but pricey, and I haven’t found a great tech yet...
Junior Associate (starting 3yr) v10 in NY and just got an offer for 200k plus 25% bonus (no equity yet) full remote. Small company but growing fast with real investment behind it. No legal team so will be only attorney with path to GC in a few years if it works out. Like my big law job but don’t love it. I feel like this is an opportunity I cant pass up to see how it goes and can always return to big law if I want/need (maybe new firm) but maybe I’m missing something? Am I too junior to jump?
Hello fellow ad smarties!
Would love to foster a discussion here around Influencers & best strategies/practices during Planning how to use them during key selling seasons? My client reco at the moment is to walk away from a full year support of micro/nano influencers due to cost & not much ROI. And focus on 2-3 key periods throughout the year to leverage micro/nano influencers. Thanks in advance!
Interested in investing in some SPACs. Can anyone pitch a few recommendations? Please keep in mind I use Robinhood.
