Volunteering at Junior Achievement tomorrow for EY connect day :) how would you describe what we do to a classroom of 2nd graders?

I teach a self-contained special ed class for grades K-2, mild/moderate. I have a student with extreme behaviors, including destroying the classroom. My walls have been bare for months because he keeps tearing everything off of them. We will have open house in May. How can I "dress up" my room for open house without him destroying it? Should I collect artwork/work samples, and set them aside until the night of open house?

2nd year sped teacher. really struggling w equity in the classroom. feel like an an assistant and not like a teacher and the kids don’t see my co-teacher and I as equals. Suggestions?

This upcoming year our school district is trying early release every Wednesday. I find it difficult to cover all the standards in a high school math class, and now I am concerned with having to modify/reduce our curriculum. It will take 10-15 minutes out of the period on Wednesdays. Do you think it will change what we can teach? A colleague suggested a flipped classroom. I teach in an affluent area that only spent a couple weeks remote learning for all last year. Thoughts on flipped classroom?

My daughter will be finishing school and in her own classroom for the first time this fall! I'm getting ahead of myself but I'd love to gift her a big basket of things (tools, supplies, etc) she'll need, especially the stuff that she might not think she'll need, along with just some fun things to help her settle in! I'd love some ideas of things you would've loved to receive when you were starting out?

Google Classroom and Zoom was on the fritz all morning. Lord, I have never worked so fast at multitasking of talking to a few students on Zoom, the rest of the students through Go Guardian, texting parents through ClassDojo, and calling parents. I was only able to teach math and science 🤣

What's a rule you are expected to enforce that you strongly disagree with or are indifferent to. Do you enforce it or take the risk? I move around as a tutor and am currently working with a school that has a ridiculously strict formal address policy. One of my second graders refers to me as "Miss Tutoring (my first name)" - it's about the cutest thing ever and doesn't bother me one bit. We are moderated sometimes and I'm more worried about her getting in trouble than me for not abiding.

Got my bachelors in information systems management, but thinking of getting my CPA to help myself get to principal/partner level at a public firm or start my own someday. Would my best bet be to get a bachelors in accounting for the foundational accounting knowledge, or would I be able to manage and benefit from a masters of accountancy program?

Junior Associate (starting 3yr) v10 in NY and just got an offer for 200k plus 25% bonus (no equity yet) full remote. Small company but growing fast with real investment behind it. No legal team so will be only attorney with path to GC in a few years if it works out. Like my big law job but don’t love it. I feel like this is an opportunity I cant pass up to see how it goes and can always return to big law if I want/need (maybe new firm) but maybe I’m missing something? Am I too junior to jump?
