VOO vs VTI. What’s your preference?

As someone whose weight tends to fluctuate, I am absolutely ecstatic that I’ve been able to maintain (even lose ~5lbs) during quarantine! Stepped on the scale this morning and had to share my exciting news 🤗

It’s easy to get into a rut ... but I’ve been treating myself to one small treat a day (i.e. dark chocolate or a cookie) and it has done wonders for easing cravings. Get outside, do some pushups between calls, you can do this health-fam 💪🏻💯🔥

I set my 401k per paycheck contribution to max by year end. Currently at 16k but I’m quitting my job in a week and won’t have access to new job 401k for a month. Should I just put my entire last paycheck into this company’s 401k to fill it up?

Transferred some stock in kind from one brokerage to another but noticed that each transferred stock appears to be bought at the current price on the day of the transfer (eg. if avg price of my TSLA stock was $500 before transferring now it’s showing $620). Now I’m freaking out because it seems like as a result I’ve erased all my historical gains on the stocks that I had bought at a much lower price years ago? Am I missing something or did I just lose all my unrealized gains by transferring?

Asking for a friend - contributed full $6k to a ROTH IRA during 2021. Due to RSUs vesting is now above the MAGI limit to contribute to a ROTH IRA. Would the best approach be to have the contributions be reclassified to traditional, and then do a back door Roth? (Currently does not have a traditional IRA balance)

I have about 100k of my previous company stock , holding them for 3 years now. They did not grow much like other stocks and it’s risky to have this much amount in individual stock. If I sell them today I would have to pay about 20k in taxes. What’s the recommended way for selling? Should I sell Thai year or next year?

I have a Rollover and SEP IRA alongside my current 401k.

My Roth account has the lowest balance because historically I've taken the tax deduction for pre tax contributions to the SEP and Rollover.

I understand if I contribute the money to Rollover and then backdoor to Roth, I will pay tax pro-rata based on the contribution percentage of total Rollover/SEP account balance (majority tax on funds that have grown).

Q: Can I open another traditional IRA solely for the purpose of the backdoor?

Looking at switching from my current savings account to either Ally Bank Online Savings (1.10% APY) or American Express High Yield Savings Account (1.15% APY). Anyone have experience with either of the two?

My employer 401k and my personal IRA are both managed by Vanguard. I just realized how much my vanguard 2050 retirement 401k plan (VFIFX) is underperforming compared to the SP500 last 10 years.
