Any stories of what happened AFTER you had to back out of some work because you were getting overwhelmed with what’s on your plate? I had to tell a partner I couldn’t help him with a training after initially agreeing because I was worn thin between two different deals. I’m fairly new to the firm so am a little concerned this is going to affect me reputationally, but figured it was better than blowing a client-related deadline. Fwiw he was nice about it and his training I think went fine.

Thoughts on OW London? Comp, WLB, project mix and culture relative to other T2s. Is their tech practice growing/good?

Looking for negotiation advice between these two offers for a Program Manager. Currently a Sr Project Manager in tech w/ 16 YOE, with PMP and CSM and SAFe certifications. First offer: contractor, USD $85/hour. Second offer: Full time CAD employment, $165k salary w/ a decent health benefits package and 4 weeks vacation. Which would you choose, or how would you negotiate between these two offers?

What matters more to you? Promotion or gaining experience from the project you are on?

Thinking about a career change from insurance defense to district attorney. It will be a SIGNIFICANT decrease in income for the first few yrs, but I can't think of any other "con." I don't like what I'm doing & think I'd like being a prosecutor. Pros for me include more trial experience/client contact, less hours & more time for a future family, no billing, no travel, loan forgiveness, and generally feeling like I'm actually helping people.

Has anyone done this? Thoughts?

Facebook/Meta program manager - real job or glorified project manager?

I am planning to shift to Data Analyst/Data scientist role. Right now i work for a project where I'm a software eng & we have to maintain our application on C++ code. It is more like support/dev and unit testing combined. Coding is hardly involved and my hold on DS is weak so not sure if I'll be able to crack technical interviews for C++ dev or anything similar.
So is this a right decision to move from application dev role to Data Science/analyst field? Does software engineer gets paid more?

How companies are managing salary hikes?
1) i see they are combining roles for example - project manager is combined when you are looking for Business analyst .
2 ) you are assigned multiple projects to manage cost in short you are doing work of multiple roles.

In one of my side hustles, I'm the Communications Director with a campaign for Congress. Our primary is in 3 weeks, and we just found some insane dirt on the incumbent. Team is on board to leak to press — except for the candidate herself, because she wants to run a clean race. Meanwhile, incumbent is sabotaging us at every turn. Our team cohesion and trust in each other is more important than one story, but this would give us the boost we need to win, and it's frustrating kicking it to the curb.

How open/honest are you when talking about your company with others?

Truth be told, I’m fairly straight forward with my feelings about my team/company/role. I don’t trash them, but I don’t make it out to be better than it really is nor do I sugar-coat anything as if I’m trying to sell them on something. Granted I work in a big corporate setting and I’m relatively new in the workforce so perhaps it resonates differently from me than someone with more experience.
