As an Agile hating PM I love this

SC1 I agree. I actually tell people that construction is probably the only industry where Agile development makes 0 sense.

I like this format. Investing.

People complain about PMs causing too much overhead and then when things go south they blame PMs for not planning and tracking accurately. My mental health has been so much more positive since I quit caring about the egos of developers and BAs.

How about Kanban boards?

Those are useful to me to some degree. I don’t go around and pretend my projects are agile though.

Hey ladies. I had a miscarriage July 2021 and my cycle started back up not long after. Then in January it just stopped. It’s been 3 months without my period and not sure what could be causing it (I’m not pregnant). My diet hasn’t changed and neither has my activity. I run marathons but I’ve been doing that for years now and it’s never impacted my period prior. I have an appointment to see my OB in a week but wondering if any of you experienced this.

I’m curious how many teachers give their students gifts for Christmas/winter break and/or end of the year and what types of gifts they give. I’ve done both in the past but finding it gets pricey. Looking for suggestions. Thanks!

I'm hiring and I've just learned that my HR department is screening candidates by asking them about very specific functions and frameworks.

"Can you describe your experience using Element#remove()?"

"Can you describe your experience migrating from X framework to Y framework?"

We don't use Y framework and have no plans to use Y framework in the foreseeable future. I also don't expect candidates to have all functions memorized. How on Earth did they find out about Y framework!? 🙄🫣

I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?
