Waiting now 13 months for a decision on a pre-answer motion to dismiss for an employment/business law dispute. Been administratively adjourned eight times and bounced around now two judges. The applicable law is straightforward, requires some reading but nothing heavy lifting, so it should not take this long. Of course client is livid, but what can I do? Has anyone ever actually had any luck with a phone call to chambers in this situation? And what's the longest you ever waited for a decision?

Once waited close to 8-10 months for a Central District CA judge to rule on a 12b6. Court set trial, so we had to do a bunch of discovery and a depo before he’d ruled. Finally took our filing a motion to continue the trial, which was like a month or two away by that point. Court denied the continuance motion, but it woke them up and they ruled on the MTD right after. Figured out from a clerk well after the fact that it had probably gotten buried in a stack somewhere.

So I’d figure out if there’s something else you can file to get the court’s attention on the file.

Hi All. Need some advice . I am currently serving notice period at PwC India. Had requested my project lead for an early release ( 50 days instead of 90) which he has agreed to on mail since project is almost complete. Talked to the HR and she told me that you will need Partner approval to waive off the period else you will have to pay to the company for shortfall in notice period. Has anyone else faced this issue? I’m transitioning careers from Java Developer to Business Analyst. I have experience being a Business Analyst for 6 months in one of my previous project.

Are there any BAs who can guide me on how to get a role and what study materials would be relevant for me? I’m slowly getting demotivated since the interviewer told me I’m not good at translating requirements which makes sense because I mostly took notes and did documentation at the previous BA role I did. Any advice would be helpful!

There is a ethical issue with the Nagarro interview process. Why don't Nagarro make the job interviews aligned to the same level of client interviews. Client interviews in Nagarro is tougher than job interviews. This way Nagarro is increasing the bench strength but then putting extra pressure on the candidates in to find a project. Keep the same standard of the interview for both job and client. This way both will be in a good state of mind.

As an operations manager I manage budgets/billing process for a portfolio of clients within my agency. My role is partially “risk management” and without being able to refer to a specific figure, I KNOW I have saved the company from write-offs and other financial/client risk. Is there anyone who does a similar role that has implemented a way of tracking “dollars saved” or “would-be write-offs”? I’m trying to quantify/apply value to the work I do in plain dollars and cents.

Why do we not fight the insurance industry’s justification of “fundamental research” for cutting bills...

I’m going to start adding “as required by lawyer ethics guidelines to ensure we do not commit malpractice by simply using previously cited legal authority without doing necessary research to make sure it is still good law and no new law has been established, or to find out whether there is any law more on point to this fact scenario” to every single research entry.
