One of my employees is the only one in the firm who knows how to use a critical piece of outdated software. I overheard them speaking about accepting a job interview. Should I get them to train another employee?
In house interviews: I finished a final round of interviews and was expecting a final decision after the interviews. Rather than yes or no, the recruiter told me that the feedback is positive but they need to interview one more candidate to compare since I am the first one interviewed. And they wanted to add one more meeting with their new team member starting next week. Is this common and what’s the best way to deal with this unexpected message? Thanks!
Would you ever ask an interviewer “what do you consider my weaknesses as a potential candidate?” Or something of that nature? I’ve been advised to ask it before and am curious. Of course this will be an opportunity to “defend” yourself or highlight your strengths, or propose what you’re doing to improve in those areas. Interested in some other perspective as I have a final interview later this week
I’m curious to know how can I follow up with a recruiter without looking desperate. The interview went really well, and she said she would reach out soon, but haven’t heard back from her yet.
NY KPMG folks.. are there two KPMG buildings side by side? I’m very confused. I interviewed at 345 park but am being placed in 560 Lexington. Do different groups sit in different offices?
Have an interview for a strategy job at Wayfair later this week... anybody have any insight on them?
Hi everyone, I have 5 YOE and skill set of ETL, Oracle fusion cloud, Pl/SQL and BI tools including Sap BODS, OBIEE and BI Publisher. I am currently sitting at a package of approximately 6 LPA and I will start looking for interviews. Can you please suggest what are the market standards for my level at present, how much should I ask and settle for ?
Hi everyone, I need your advice. I've been interviewing with MBB and Tier 2 firms over the past few years. However I was never well prepared for case studies. I now decided to take 6-8 months and seriously prepare for cases/mental math and try them again next year. I currently have Victor Chengs book and few others. What else would you recommend for me? How can i lay out a plan to study? Any source you can recommend free or paid?
Anyone at Edelman confirm that there’s a policy to only allow vaccinated staff in offices? I’m interviewing and asked and not getting a clear answer which is a bit weird.
What is the best interview slot to request when a company is interviewing multiple people across two days?
I have 2 years currently remaining on my H1B and don’t have I140 yet. Am planning to start applying to places, but I see a lot of posts about how companies are saying no to folks who have contd..
I didn’t get an answer on career pivot but would any program managers know someone who can conduct a mock interview? The person who did my resume is charging $170 and I didn’t know if I should go that route or find someone in the field. (Should you pay for a mock?) TIA.
Looking for good behavioral and case interview prep resources. All suggestions and recommendations are welcome. Thank you!
I’ve seen a lot of posts lately about Accenture Strategy interviews. Are they ramping up their practice?
I have interviewed w/ every member of an early stage start up & have an offer to join as their 1st hire. I just don't trust their technical co-founder to be able to execute or attract the right talent, so I'm going to walk away from it. I trust the other co-founder though and want to be honest. Should I be blunt when saying why? Would anyone here have actually appreciated to hear this if you were in a leadership position at a start up, or is co-founder status too late to make a change anyway?
Interview on Friday for an internal audit position. Apparently I have to write a case assessment an hour prior to the interview (like an exam). Has anyone done such a thing before? Any tips?
Bombed an interview for my dream job. I’m feeling so numb right now, and I can’t seem to process what just happened.
Seeking portfolio advice. 23 years old- 95k comp, 20k currently in market through the most basic Schwab index funds and Vanguard ETF’s, already max out 401k & IRA. My returns over the past year have been meager. I want to take on more risk and pick more concentrated investments. Whatever I go with, I want to hold them for the long run with no intention to sell. Any advice?
For those with HSAs, are you actively using the balance to pay medical bills? Or are you holding on to those funds and paying bills out of regular savings/checking? Is there an advantage one way or the other?
I will never get sick of listening to teams explaining pop culture to clients who don’t pay attention to pop culture. “Ok well the Jonas Brothers are a band, but also brothers..."
Wondering if anyone had moved to consulting from PhD? Any challenges you foresee in filing green card under EB1A independently. My company is not willing to file for green card at this stage. Any recommendations on lawyers?
Looking for some advice. I have very sore relationship with my mom. I am from south Asian family and my mom only cares about is her son. I have already lost my father, I am still single and my mom..
I am almost 2 years into my H1B. They haven’t started my I140 but when I joined told me that I would be eligible in a year of which I am coming up on in this Oct. I got a new offer today but they told me that they would apply I140 after a year from when I join. The pros of the new one is TC more than 18k with sign-on of 15k (not sure clauses for this) and better wrk-life bal). My question is, how long into H1B is it advisable to have an I140 applied for. Would 3-4 years into my H1B be too late?
One of my favorite things about consulting is county of origin diversity. Can we do a quick poll here of various CoO represented. Put your flag and have the fellow nationals upvote!
Someone want to explain how everyone in consulting can be this duped... we accept promotions for more responsibilities without knowledge of compensation... that literally doesn’t happen anywhere else. How dumb are we? Ps. I don’t count myself, I’ve never taken a promotion without jumping firms :) though plan on doing it next year - as SM
I had a recruiter from EY contact me for a Manager role. What’s the culture like at EY? How’s the WLB? Would you recommend working there or should I run? 😅
Anyone with experience negotiating above the stated salary range? Job posting says 75-90k, assuming they offer at the higher end that’s less than 15% pay bump for me but I liked the company and the people I interviewed with.
Is Marriot Bonvoy Boundless worth getting? Offering 100K point bonus after $5,000 spend in 3 months. $95 annual fee, 6x points at marriot, 2x on everything else. FWIW I have CSR and WF Propel already

Salary of a L4 employee in Amazon Singapore
I’m sore. BF and I WFH all last week and let’s just say coffee breaks got on the wild side. Let’s see what this week holds..
I’ve been interviewing and I’m running out of excuses for being out of the office randomly and without much notice. I’ve used doctor’s appointment, dentist, “personal reasons” and an emergency appliance issue. Any others people have used? I don’t have kids, so none of those will work. Had an interview scheduled for Tuesday just now.
I took PTO today (to my job) and worked today (to my family) and just sat in my home office on the internet
How is Hawaii right now? Are beaches and restaurants open? As a mainland tourist is it worth visiting to stay at a nice hotel and get some warm weather?
