Walking around Chicago the other day I realized I own no comfortable shoes. I know this isn’t really a sneaker head forum but can anyone recommend a good pair of stylish, comfortable sneakers I can pair with shorts and other casual attire? Was thinking Nike Vapormax Evo?

since you mentioned a sneaker, i’ll suggest a few similar (but aesthetically better) options in no particular order:
1) new balance 997 made in USA
2) nike airmax 90
3) nike airmax 270
4) adidas ultraboost
5) adidas nmd
6) adidas iniki runner

re: other people’s’ suggestions:
1) allbirds look like garbage. obviously that’s my personal opinion, take it or leave it. also, they’re a budget shoe that requires minimal upkeep (can just toss them in the wash) but frequent replacement.
2) common projects are great shoes and are comfortable if you have narrow enough feet, but even then they aren’t meant for the type of walking i’m guessing you’re talking about. they’re better for going out than for walking around all day.
3) nike pegasus are straight up running shoes. so that may or may not be a look you’re ok with.

nope

This is my time to shine.

Non-Hype List:

1) Air Max 90
2) Adidas R1 NMD
3) Nike Cortez
4) Adidas Ultraboost
5) New Balance 997/999

Hype List:

1) Jordan 1 or 3 or 4
2) Yeezys 350v2
3) Yeezy 700
4) Air Max 1
5) Air Max 97
6) Comme De Garçon Converse (Low-Top)

Nobody liked my recommendation 😂. Ok, I still like them.

common projects

Vapor max evo are big and hard to pair with anything beyond gym shorts. I’d go with the Nike Pegasus; very comfortable, stylish but low key and you can pair it with regular shorts, jeans, etc. ultraboosts are also similar.

Converse low tops
