Wanna know of how anyone that co-slept provided elevation to baby to tackle the reflux issue!
And yes, we do cosleep on the same bed but follow a ton of safe sleep recos! So 🙂

Dockatot helped us. On real bad days I would add layers under the dockatot to make it more slanting, but would always ensure it is evenly slanted

Excellent! I’m definitely trying this!

When my son was going through severe reflux, I would sleep with him. I kept him elevated using pillows. I also held him in an elevated position for a very long time after a feed just so that he wouldnt throw up.

I worried about it too but my twins were sleeping with me. At that point I had broken every rule in the book to get them comfortable and to get me some sleep at night. In my culture it is normal to have kids sleep this way but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who isn't comfortable.

I’ve been asked to weigh in on how to improve my firms parental leave policy. It’s currently 8 weeks paid for birth parent with an extra week for each year at the firm (up to 12 weeks total) and 2 weeks paid for non-birth parent. I’m in a major city, firm is a boutique that has been around a very long time. What would you suggest? Any studies or research you’ve seen recently on trends in parental leave policies also helpful. I’d like to have some sort of data to back up what I recommend. TIA!

Less than a year before I can retire and not sure I can make it. The stress at home, work and with the aches and pains of my 54 year old body are taking their toll. Has anyone just been feeling pretty sad and down these past few months? I’ve never really felt this way pre-pandemic but now no matter what I do (workout, talk to friends, yoga) I still feel waves of sadness. I live in a cold city with strict covid lockdowns so I know that that is contributing to my sadness but just wanted to see if anyone else feels like this and how you are coping? I also haven’t traveled or gone on many social outings since last March so Ik that is taking a toll on me as well

Hello Fishes, its really strange to ask but I have no option left.
I have almost 2 years of gap in my career due to medical issues, but not its recovered and I am trying to rejoin again. I applied to so many places but has been seeing only rejections either due to gap and either due to my over qualification.
I am truly tired of applying and waiting for their call back and reverts, Its like getting into depression slowly slowly.
Is their any place where I can get hired soon. Please help me.

Due in 2 weeks with baby number two, husband just tested positive for Covid 😩 He’s been around me and our 2 year old the past 2 days, getting PCRs for me and my LO tomorrow. Freaking out is an understatement. We had our first in May 2020 and never thought we’d still be going through this 2 years later. Anyone know anyone whose delivered or had a c section with Covid? Looking for some encouragement everything will work out okay. This is crazily the first time we’ve had it!

Neither my husband nor I are good with change and when my husband and I went for the ultrasound he nervously asked "she's too sick to eat anything other than her vitamins and water, is it ok for her and the baby to go without?" Our doctor just smiled and replied "don't worry, baby takes" I don't know why but that was so funny to us. It kind of became our mantra as we navigate and move our life around that "baby takes," its made it feel more Us vs Change rather than Me vs Him. Thought I'd share

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭

Do you think using “him/her” for “he/she” (ex: “her is playing” “him not here yet”) is something that kids usually grow out of? Or does it need direct intervention? I have 2 students who exhibit this error, who otherwise should be dismissed. Normally I’d just keep them on and work on it alongside other goals, but they don’t have any other goals, and with COVID, and my upcoming maternity leave in March, a more compact caseload would be advantageous.

I have PCOS, so getting pregnant has not been straightforward. We are about 6 months into trying and I am on some drugs to help. My husband basically blames me for not being pregnant yet and routinely says I am a ‘mess’ for not understanding my cycle, even though I am going by what the doctors tell me. I haven’t been stressed by having PCOS, but his constant remarks are really getting to me

Is it weird that I m traveling with my child to see my family while my wife stays back? (Side note: she had a drama with my mom a few months back) is this what I should expect going forward?

COVID halted living out of suite case and allowed dinner at home with family. Discovering what my life should have been. With rapid vaccination, I cringe at the thought of meaningless nights on the road again. Since I am older (and wiser, hopefully), see how things unfold and probably make a different choice (than did as a younger person).

I have always been very blunt and straightforward so I’m struggling to find the best way to respectfully counter to when the MD offers me sub $200k for a Director position in a new department she’s heading up, I know hiring her was expensive and then says “It’s not always about the money but more the experience.” Thoughts?

Would you ever accept a ground-floor bedroom facing the street (but set back from the pavement) in London? Residential, upscale zone 2 neighbourhood (think Victoria Park Village, East Dulwich, Fulham), but like everywhere in London, there are some rougher bits nearby. I sleep with the window open for fresh air, so I’m concerned about burglary and assault (I’m a woman). There’s the option of using an internal bedroom instead, but it’s not nearly as nice as the street-facing one.

Weekly Hot take. I didnt find Breath of the wild all that amazing. It's a good game I find it fun but don't like the shrines compared to dungeons. It just felt like an extended tech demo alot of the times. The world was kinda empty compared to some other OWGs. Specify compared to skyrim since one selling point was the map is 4x as big as skyrim's.
