Fun fact: on my 25th birthday, my pilot friends and I flew to and landed in 18 airports in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California. I did an instrument approach into Tahoe during a fairly violent thunder storm. It was really exhilarating. Had to be cool, calm, collected. We then had dinner by the lake after landing.

Fun part about being an aviator is that you get into parts of the country that are otherwise inaccessible by car and even commercial airlines. My favorite areas are definitely the underdeveloped Californian mountain towns that literally look like the 1850's Gold Rush (i.e. little tech, no cellular reception, horses, baionnettes). The best part is that you can see it, and get back into the city of San Francisco within a 2 hr timeframe. Definitely expands your weekend radius by at least 500 miles. Also -- there's something so unique about flying a plane and towing it back to parking with your body. You just feel so alpha!

Hit me up on LinkedIn and we can go from there... I live in Kenosha, 36, but am based out of the Chicago office (on a Silicon Valley project right now), into a lot of the same things. Spent weekend in the city for Radiohead and the Cubs and I'm trying to grow my local circle as well.
