Whats a typical MBB experienced hire Project/Case/Engagement Manager/Leader Signing Bonus?
I have an engineering background, graduated last December, and accepted MBB over FAANG (product design & manufacturing engineering offers) . This bowl’s focus on exiting consulting into FAANG (cont)
How does MBB view people who join and stay for just a year? Specialist (non generalist - data science) if it matters. Do they hold it against you? Due to a personal situation I may have to leave but I'm not interested in staying at my current job for another year.
Any tips for MBB case interview via Webcam?
MBB 🐠: who do you see as your biggest competitors besides other MBB firms? As in, who do you come across most when bidding for work?
Didn’t get the MBB offer, so going FAANG
Darden vs Johnson vs Ross ( No dollars) Post MBA: Location No-Preference MBB Consulting/ Product Management @ FAANG Note: I'm an international on an H1B Visa TIA!
Folks who left MBB at the 1 year mark - what did you dislike and has the new job offered what you wanted?
Worth going from MBB to LMM PE? 2 years post undergrad. Is LMM money even equal to consulting?
What’s working at MBB like for software engineers? Are they good places to grow technical sophistication? Is it mostly ent service integration? How does it compare w/ working at a large product shop?
On ApplicantLab, the coach goes on quite a bit about having a lot of white space on your resume (easy on the eyes), etc etc. This is totally wrong, right? Ive explicitly a Wharton admissions officer say to use margins to your advantage (pack more stuff in) and have seen an application guide at an MBB, where the resume templates include very little white space. Obviously every word should be valuable, but just wanted to check my sanity here since AppLab offers good advice elsewhere.
Did anyone make a transition from being an MBB data scientist to a FAANG data scientist? 1. How did you differentiate your value proposition? Given the solid technical bar, does consult and business skills create an advantage? 2. How do you feel about the change? 3. Any tips on the preparation process?
Who has transitioned from MBB to Private Equity? What is the pay difference and would you do it again?
I have sponsorship from my consulting firm (tuition, requires 3 year commitment, definitely does not pay like MBB/T2). I got a 60k scholarship from Kellogg, should I just consider making a move to MBB/T2?
What’re mbb staffing models like? I heard bain was moving to more regional. This true across the board? Mck and bcg global/national/regional?
Fair to assume all of MBB to be “Thought Leaders” in Media & Entertainment? If not, what consulting firms are?
What are the stats on up or out at MBB? Any rough percentages? Does it vary widely across MBB or fairly similar?
I have about 15 years of experience (all in HC PR) and at various times in my career have tried to pivot to other types. I am really interested in straight corporate communications for a company other than HC. I work in-house in at a large healthcare company that is heavily involved in the pandemic where I have a half corporate comms /half product role. How can I pivot without taking too much of a financial hit.
Starting to interview for full time positions- how irrational would it be to ask to work from home one-two days a week if hired?
26M making $155k base and about $185k TC at a large payments firm (Visa, MC, AmEx). I’m also 1 year away from promo which will probably get me to $210-220k TC. Do you think I still need an MBA? A lot of senior leaders in my team have 1 so I’m really not sure at this point. The opportunity costs are high, but I’m well aware of the long term benefits. I’ve also already taken the GMAT and gotten a 740. I’m an Asian male and find the hurdles that we go through for admissions a turn off as well.
Recently found out I’m pregnant. I’m going for a mid year promotion this December to manager and my baby would be due around then as well. When should I tell everyone at work about my pregnancy and how can I avoid letting it impact my promotion?
Hi I have a biz ops onsite interview tomorrow. at yelp. It will be case study + behavioral. Any idea on what kinds of case study questions could be asked? Thanks!
What's the pulse these days on "job hopping"? Was part of a COVID RIF less than a year into Job 1. Quickly found job 2 because, uh, need income. But ready to leave now.
Hi ladies, I need some advice on how to navigate/build a relationship with my fiance's family. Some of his siblings and family members are very standoffish and distant. For background, we are same race different culture. I'm very open and I've learned a lot from my fiance over the years. However, I believe his family still sees me as an outsider and they don't invite me to certain things. At times, it feels isolating and it makes me feel unwelcomed. They're also supposed to be in my wedding.

Hi, I am deciding between going to law school or getting my MBA in business management. I know, two very different things. I am currently a public relations major, but want to push myself to a different career path since I feel like I can do more. Does anyone have any opinions on my decision?
What r the chances of a person who’s only had in-house experience for 7-8 yrs to lateral into Biglaw? I have had pretty rich experience for in-house (leading internal investigations, directly reporting to management on risks/legal issues, etc.). I recently moved to NYC (my company’s headquarters) but would love to go into Biglaw. Promotion seems to be an uphill battle at my company unless u r from Biglaw. How to start networking and get my foot in the Biglaw door?
How do you stand out on virtual recruitment social /networking on Zoom or Teams? I’ve prepared a 60seconds elevator pitch with a fun fact about me to be memorable. What kind of questions do you ask for a business transformation/CX role but not only linked to work to be able to show your personality?
So uh anyone want to hire a Junior Designer for a remote position? Maybe that person could be me? Just got the return to office news.. kinda desperate.
I’m a KJD junior in ECVC - I want to try to jump to an operations role at a tech company. Is this a total pipe dream? Is it worth going for an MBA to make this career switch?
What's a realistic OTE for commercial AEs in this hot job market? Selling Enterprise grade solution. $50k average deal size with 3-6 month close cycle? Many asking for $250k OTE (125/125)? Feels too high..
I’m 26 and have ~40k sitting in my savings account. Annual income 140k. Maxing out 401k. No debt. Planning to invest 25k but don’t know where to start. Should I get a wealth manager? What is the best way to approach this?
