You can pull it off, but you'll have to put it right back on. Same thing. Every day.
I tried this. I'll tell you what I learned. You will smell like shit.
I wore black jeans and a black tee shirt every day for 9 months last year to try this out. Some learnings:
• it's really liberating at first: as an AD, i enjoyed not feeling obliged to art direct my outfit at all. one less choice in the morning.
• i looked in the mirror a lot less often. thought/worried less about how i looked, since i already knew the gist. didn't have any "bad clothes days", wondering if a shirt was too small or pants being uncomfortable or whatever. less little background anxiety.
• i saved a lot of money. my black tees & jeans were all super nice & fit well, so once i started my dress code, it was easy to say no to buying more clothes.
• people didn't really comment on it for awhile, which i thought was a plus. it wasn't like by the fifth day people were calling me out. i just became known as the guy who wore black a lot. as far as i know, it wasn't weird -- not looking like a death metal guitarist helps.
• as i approached one year, i realized i felt sort of boxed-in. wearing the same thing every day can make every day feel the same. that was the drawback that got me out of it. it got old. these days, i still wear black a lot, but i mix other shit in, too, as i feel like it. it can be nice to literally wear your heart on your sleeve some days, and for that, i think uniforms are a little overrated
They wouldn't be the EXACT same articles. Like 5 of the same shirts and pants. @CW2.
Sounds kinda boring and... uncreative
^^ That's disgusting
Pick up 10 white Hanes tshirts and 10 pairs of grey Dickies work pants.
Cast of Bonanza (1960s TV series) wore same wardrobe for entire run. Kinda funny and cool. Of course, the clothes were cleaned after each use.
Woman
Haha yeah I know. But I'm not good at keeping up with laundry. So everything, clean or dirty, hits the same pile at the end of the day and comes from the same pile the next morning. After a while, you just lose track of how many times you wore each.
I'm very militant about laundry... and smells.
I hate to play this card but I really wish i could do this as a women but it feels less executable
