What have you seen people fired for at your agency/ies? (This is meant to give some lessons for others on here)
Hi everyone! I wanted to share an awesome resource. Yoga Foster offers teachers lesson plans on how to use yoga and mindful movement in your classroom. You can also apply for grants for yoga mats!
Any good ideas for teaching students about coins? Our first graders have been struggling to master lessons about money.
I've been "voluntold" to demo an "enrichment lesson" to be filmed and broadcast on our school district tv channel. I'm totally drawing a blank on what to do...what is broadly appealing from US hist?
Got a bit too drunk at a work happy hour. Nothing embarrassing happened but I definitely blacked out and could’ve said stuff that I wouldn’t have said sober. Everyone else was also drinking quite a bit, so it was fine but not ideal and I’ve just been ashamed. Lesson learned. This happen to anyone? How do you get over the shame/anxiety of “what happened?”
QQ for any TTP users: what would you recommend as the most accelerated use of the portal? I have my GMAT in about 10 days. I've had access for half a month and I'm through ~20% problems. I've only targeted sections where I felt I needed the most improvement mainly focusing on chapter tests. If I haven't met the accuracy needed, I've then spent time on the lessons and usually hit the accuracy after. For additional context, aiming for Q47+. I was on a Q45 on a Veritas mock last week.
On Monday, we'll have like an hour to go into our classrooms to get anything we need to start making lessons for distance learning. what do i need?
I had a parent repeatedly shit talk me all over a school FB group, claiming I “hadn’t been doing anything for all of distance learning.” ... I had about 10 video lessons + daily (con’t in comment)
At family reunion and playing Monopoly Deal (first to $1M wins) with younger cousins. Crushed them. Teaching life lessons. 👌
Does anyone know of user friendly resources to teach Tinkercad to 4th and 5th graders? The website lessons seem to make lots of assumptions.
Can anyone share what books they read out to kids for bed time reading or in general? Anything that is engaging or with good morals/ life lessons
Thought I'd share this for inspiration. I was eating right and working out for the past few weeks and my weight on the scale was not budging which in turn was demotivating me. Yesterday was my first rest day and cheat day. I also slept a full 8 hrs. This morning I stepped on the scale and voila! Down 6 lbs. This has motivated me to keep pushing. Another 15 lbs to my target. lesson learned - Trust the process!
Lots of us are skilled at delivery but most sales books seem to focus on the pitch and closing... What are your best resources for learning to develop and nurture strong, lasting client relationships?
Has anyone interviewed for a data role at Square before? What’s it like and how was your experience?
If I cannot get a referral due to not enough YOE, would it be still feasible to apply without it??
Can i expense airbnb if I choose to stay there?
What are some of your favorite classroom organization supplies? (Bins, pencil holders, etc.)
Our baby is due soon so we’ve made the decision that we will only have visits from vaccinated family members (not realizing it would be an issue) only to find out that my Dad will never be getting vaccinated, planned to lie about it AND asked other family members lie to us about his vaccination status too… when we found out and asked him about it, he started to FREAK out. Now I’m questioning if we’re being unreasonable… how have you guys been handling unvaccinated people meeting your newborns??
Are there any blackout days for vacation at EY? If I have a vacation in my ARMS for months, can somebody push back and say we need you? I spent a lot of money and time planning this trip...
B4 strategy or general 🐠, would love your advice. Currently, 2 YOE at a well known non B4 firm doing PI/Transformation work. I didn’t get promoted this year because I didn’t have enough experience in my particular group because I was staffed on a different project for awhile. I’m interested in Strategy analyst roles (1 YOE). Will me not being promoted hurt my chances? I’ll probably get promoted at the beginning of 2022. Should I wait until then to apply? Thanks. Deloitte EY PwC
Currently an A3 in audit. My team communicated to me that they’re pushing for me to get mid-year promo (Jan 2022) but I’m also interested in leaving to another Big 4 for AAS as an S1. Current salary is $73.6k and am unsure of how much I should be going for to make the jump worth it. I know EY FAAS offered a friend $85k in my market but assuming I get mid year promo I’m not so sure the salary bump would be significant enough. How much room for negotiation is there with Big 4 experienced hires?
What’s the work culture like at The Martin Agency, specifically in the planning department? Feeling burnt out at a small agency on an even smaller strategy team, and considering a change.
Has anyone found a video call platform that shares videos nicely? We’ve used Zoom, teams, hangouts and video just looks like crap-and sending stuff ahead of time and having everyone view on their end is clunky and awkward. Hoping for a better solution
One of my friends is extremely needy...am I an asshole for not wanting to FaceTime/Zoom is while we’re all quarantining? I find the constant small talk draining/pointless
I (M29, not from US) have a sister who is getting married. I’m traveling back home for her wedding and wonder how much should I give her in cash (in our culture, cash is a common wedding gift)?
Thoughts on giving 2 weeks notice without an offer lined up? I m physically and emotionally burnt out and the team dynamic on my current project is toxic. How long would it take to find another role
Hi! Has anyone completed the diversity and inclusion certificate online through Cornell university? Thoughts? Worth it? Helpful in your career? Thanks!!
Finally got into Chicago after a bunch of delays in SFO, and my uber driver missed exit and the trip is now 20 minutes longer due to rerouting :(
Is there anyone out there that works or has worked for SAP? I just got an offer for a technical support engineer role based in PA at 86k. Wondering if I have room to negotiate or not?
I had a 1st round interview last week and I didn’t love the sound of the job. It’s in higher ed. It would also be a 20k pay cut (105 -> 85). They want to do a final round with me this week. During the interview, the director who would be my manager said they are understaffed and very busy. She also said someone in this role needs to love working. I don’t necessarily want to transition to another busy place for a pay cut. The only perk I see is the time off university staff get and tuition...comt
I know this sounds ridiculous but I’m pretty self conscious about the fact that I’ve already been in 5 different agencies (no fault of my own. Covid, life etc) before even hitting 3 years in the industry. I know it ultimately isn’t what matters but I’m having trouble about how I think it looks to others when everyone has held only 1, if not 2 jobs in the same amount of time.
Time to sell Zoom? Or hold long?
