Amazon recruiters. I have a question for you and my DMs are open. I got a referral and am definitely qualified for this position but I went into the portal to check my candidacy for this position i was referred to yesterday and i’m already “no longer under consideration “. How is this possible?Amazon AWS Amazon
Finished interviewing for an ATS role at Microsoft Wednesday. The interviewers said they were recommending me but I haven’t gotten any feedback from the recruiter. I’m at PwC S& and in consulting I always got at least a verbal yes day of or next day after interviewing. Does anyone know how long this usually takes? Do you get a verbal first or do they wait to have a contract?

Just make sure it’s not a hunting safari. Crazy people will harass you and put your photos all over the internet.
If you go to South Africa, pick a lodge in Sabi Sands, the private reserves next to Kruger - not in the park itself. Much better experience as you can drive off-roads tracking wildlife and thus see much much more. Some lodges can be pricey tho
There’s a huge range in types and costs for safaris, so figuring out a budget should be your first step. You can do anything from participation camping to spending $1,500 a night at a luxury camp.
There’s also a ton of different places you can go, so picking a country/area is important. Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, South Africa, etc. They all have pros and cons and wildlife at different times of year.
I spent 3 weeks doing an overland safari through South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe which was amazing, but lots of people are also totally satisfied with just a couple days in Kruger, saving time and money to do extras like Cape Town and Stellenbosch. Many different ways to do a safari, so you just have to decide what works for you and your budget.
Def not!
Tanzania with Overseas Adventure
I did one in Sabi Sands in South Africa for 4 days and it was incredible. Besides the actual safari rides, my husband and I had a private villa there and the dinners would be served outside around a bonfire and beautiful lights to give a unique, family feel. I think it cost us maybe $500 each and that was right before Christmas!
Check out the Game Parks in South Africa or Zimbabwe.
Went in South Africa. It’s awesome.
Been to South Africa and Kenya. Most amazing thing ever
Had a great weekend trip organized by Rhino Africa (https://www.rhinoafrica.com/en)
Is that you, David?
Kenya. Little Governors tent camp in the Masai Mara was amazing. Also did a safari in the ngoro crater in Tanzania that was pretty awesome. Skip South Africa for safaris. Very commercial. Tanzania advantage is you can tack on 3-4 days on Zanzibar. Totally worth the extra time. The Indian Ocean coast is stunning
Tanzania is great. Recommend ngorongoro crater as one key place to hit up. Masai Mara was also incredible in Kenya. I’m Tanzania we used Good Earth Tours. Time of year can matter for safari based on what you want to see.
SA2 what did you end up paying?
@SA1 did you use a company for your 3 week trip? That honestly sounds amazing . How much $$$
@A1 I was living in Cape Town at the time and used a small, local provider for the trip, have no idea what the name is anymore. The trip was full participation camping, so not glamorous at all but I don’t think it gets much better than sleeping under the stars in the Okavango Delta. This was several years ago, but it only cost around $2k including everything, so definitely was an amazing deal.
Check out Gate 1 ... high quality at reasonable prices. Loved Kenya
Start in Cape Town, then fly for a few nights to Kruger, followed by Zambia and Zimbabwe
