Need some advice. Started a few months ago a new job through internal transfer as a lead role in a bank for $350TC. Amazon Web Services keeps messaging me daily for a Principal role and I’m not really in the job market but I think I’ll go through the interview process. I was thinking of demanding the following but I’m not sure how realistic for a remote principle role this is
Base: $240k
Cash Bonus: $110k
Signing Bonus: $150k
RSU: 9,100 shares ($1m PV) in (50/20/15/15)
Does this seem possible?
Depends on total compensation, benefits, etc. I'd say that base is a little low unless the job in question has a lower technical barrier (do you contribute and manage vs just manage) or more easily filled. If it touches software development or anything outside of pure policy/governance, I think $120k-$130k would be a more reasonable bottom unless the company is in a rural area or one where there is competition for the role. Maybe thats and old school way of thinking but I typically just expect less pay from a company based in suburbia vs a major city.
Thanks for the response. This would be contribute and manage. More of a technical manager than people manager and in a city. I also believe this 100k is very low.
