If my last day at the firm is next week can I still upgrade my phone to take advantage of the pricing deals? Or will the firm reject my request?
Started telling recruiters up front what I am looking for and letting them know not to come to a call with me to try to only push something I'm not interested in such as the Siegfried Group.
What is Change Management Consulting? Strategic? Management Consulting? Different or the same?
Currently revenue accounting manager at SaaS company, just received an offer for Sr. Revenue Financial Analyst role at a large startup. Does anyone have experience going from accounting to finance and have any insights on what to consider besides compensation? The comp is comparable but startup RSUs definitely have much more potential than my current equity. Thanks in advance!
I want to leave my job as an IT Auditor- but I fear that “IT Audit skills” are not reasonably transferable to other jobs. I’ve barely been doing this a year but I am not a fan of the tik and check of audit in general. Im not even sure what I’d want to do- any career advice or idea of a new role?
As an accounting major does it look bad to not have a cpa... really struggling. Mainly cause my heart just isn’t in it. I want to risk consulting or it assurance and potentially work towards my cisa. But since I have an accounting degree I feel as though it’s going be look down on if I don’t do my cpa.
What is your experience moving from public accounting to internal audit within the same industry? Positive, negative? Pros, cons?
Those of you who were successful, how did you go about talking to your counselor about wanting to switch offices/service lines?
Hi All - I have 5 YOE, 3 Busy Seasons in Public and 2 Busy Seasons in Industry as a Hedge Fund Accountant in NYC. Can you please share the base salary I should be aiming for as I look to move to my next position as either a Senior Fund Accountant/ Assistant Controller? Currently paid 105K. Is it unrealistic to be asking for 130K or should I be aiming for more? I appreciate your input.
Are there industry jobs (PE, HF, etc.) where I would still work similarly as hard as B4, but get paid commensurately? e.g. instead of a standard 9-5 industry getting 100k, 9-7 industry getting 120k
Thoughts on leaving public accounting for a sales role? Have you heard of any success stories from former accountants going down this path? I started looking into accounting software companies and Floqast seems like it may be a decent option. I’ve never heard of them tho.
160k offer senior manager in fintech startup or 130k experienced senior in big4. Always want to have some big4 exposure. Not gonna get manager role due to lack of consulting experience. Which one should I choose? Currently a manager in retail industry.
What can I exit to with 3 years audit experience in financial service industry (Private equity and hedge fund) and 2 years senior accountant experience at a mid-tier private manufacturing company? Thinking of taking an offer from industry but not sure if it’s a good move. Seeking better wlb but also good exit opportunities in the future. Staying in audit or go to industry?
Is getting a job in accounting for the management company of many funds a “dead end”? I know it’s a good job with good pay, but would I be “pigeon-holing” myself taking that job?

Do you plan to move and migrate and eventually stay for good, or move for experience and then go somewhere else? If it was the former, and you plan to get a permanent residency, then eventually a citizenship I would reconsider and find a different European country because of the Brexit uncertainties. In my opinion, it's not worth it anymore since UK has exited from the European !Union, and there is a high probability that you would need a visa traveling to any European and EEA member country (it is almost 4yrs and UK still has no concrete plan how to be on its own). If it was the latter, for experience, go for it! I love London and travelling in parts of the UK. The only problem is its high cost of living, small spaces, and expensive transportation fees. You can do your research so you're prepared when you plan to move. This is coming from my own personal experience (I have lived in Asia, Europe and now US). End of the day it's your life and your decision what you want. 😊
Go for it! Right now though they are on circuit breaker 2 or stay at home for a month if I'm not mistaken. For sure there are available jobs. Good luck! 😊
Check the careers pages for each Big 4. They have UK branches and most of their US expat work is in London. EY UK had US tax jobs open this past summer when I looked, but I didn’t notice that many audit openings. Still worth checking though, maybe they’ve added more.
