First, decide what your last day will be. I called my coach, then my RL. Called the manager on my current team. Then I emailed the manager/seniors on the next clients I was scheduled on and IMed them so that they were aware. Then went to Workday > Edit Profile > Actions > Job Change and put in my resignation date. Then HR automatically gets a notification and initiates the offboarding process with you.

Nope you’re not obligated to say where you’re going. Just heard of some cases where you put in your notice, refuse to disclose your next employer, and PWC lets you go immediately (my guess is they think it could be an independence conflict and let you go to be on the safe side). And I have a friend who went to another Big 4, was given 48 hr notice to leave because its a direct competitor.

Also in my experience, once the manager knows - they will tell partner/director who will in turn reach out to you lol so don’t worry about telling them unless you like them and personally want them to hear it from you

like

Appreciate that. If I’m going to another big 4 is the day I tell them my last day?

Once you put in ur resignation in Workday, HR will email u and ask for ur main reason for leaving and the company ur going to (for independence purposes). I know 2 ppl who left to competitors - 1 was given 48 hours to leave and 1 was walked out same day bc they were onsite at a client.

Belt it out that your quitting and run from the building and never look back .

I was selected in TCS in May 2022. Had accepted the offer but didn't complete further process(BGV and all). Now I am getting innumerous numbers of calls daily from TCS to attend the interview. So I attended one yesterday and got selected as well. Now they're asking me to complete profile on TCS ibegin portal. But it is saying duplicate profile found(due to PAN no.) as I had already accepted offer few months back from some different email id. And my profile is still there in the system. What should I do?

Resigning soon. I’ve been in the job a short time, but the boss is a real unique kind of bad apple that gets weirdly attached to everyone she hires like they’ll never leave ever. The team is long tenured but its for the money that they overlook the BIG mood swings and disrespectful demeanor. I expect the resignation will go bad with lots of badgering. Any tips?

Is this a dead lock? firms exp matters much more than a CPA license?

Had phone call screen with Auditboard HR for the Sr. GL Accountant position today. The average pay range for Sr. Accountant in Los Angeles, CA is around 100k - 110k/year. But she offered me $70k - $80k/year.

Can someone who works in Finance/Accounting department within Auditboard confirm if that is the normal pay range?

I reside in Columbus, Ohio. I have three years of public accounting experience in India from 2012 - 2015 and was unable to work due to visa restrictions. As a refresher to my career I invested in pursuing CPA. I passed FAR and Audit sections. Should I apply for associate or experienced associate roles in USA public accounting firms? I feel I can handle more work load than a fresher. Any thoughts and referrals are much appreciated

I’ve seen some people write “acting senior” or “acting manager” on their resume under their accounting firm and will even put the time frame they were an “acting senior”. I am 100% an acting senior right now, but should I put it on my resume? Idk if that’s normal or weird to put

We encountered an issue with a car dealership client where they record a used car in their inventory based on their current valuation and a lower cost is paid for the purchased cars. They call the difference as "undernet" and this practice is common for the industry as per client. Based on IAS 2 an inventory should be recognised lower of cost or NRV. Anyone who encountered this issue with their client before? Can you share your experience and how did you resolve this issue?
