Wanting to go for in house at Walmart - coming from insurance defense litigation. I think I'd be well qualified for their tort litigation positions. Anyone have any insight or tips for applying for such a job / such a career pivot?

From outside counsel perspective, due to the voluminous litigation, Walmart has extremely specific protocol, policies, etc. when working with outside counsel. You could mention if you have a high-volume client & talk about how you would adapt your practice to maintain those cases in house. Walmart is cheap, so how would you make your cases end early/minimize costs? I would ask them if you would have a paralegal to assist you and how many other people that paralegal assists. This may be obvious but look up the recent Walmart cases in the news/ on the dockets.

Just curious as to why Walmart? HQ location? Retail? I’m in-house at a specialty retailer and when I hire attorneys/paras, I love a good, personalized cover letter explaining why someone wants to work for my company in the role, but I know not all hiring managers look for that.

Your post doesn't indicate one way or the other, but ... do you currently do defense work for Walmart? An insurance-defense firm I worked for 10+ years ago did trucking-liability defense for Walmart, so we interacted with in-house counsel. I would think that kind of 'insider knowledge' would be particularly helpful.

I am so conflicted and not sure what to do. A company I wanted to work for was not ready for hire when I first reached out in Sept. Since then I have accepted a job at a outpatient oncology clinic, starting in Jan at a renowned hosp. Having said that the other company does more of what I was hoping to do when I left my previous job. The company is a vessel for new ideas in healthcare helping their community specifically with seed funding, & launching their own programs. I have no idea what to do

I work in customer service and I'm considering a role at another major airline. It pays more as it is a full-time role with a rotational shift pattern (4on/2off). At my company, full-time might not be an option soon and the shift pattern (5/2) is fixed for a whole year. I am unsure because although I am very attached to the airline I am working with, I really would like a more flexible approach to my work/life balance, considering I am living abroad for this job. Would this be enough to switch?

Has anyone been black balled because of an ugly experience with a small boutique L&E firm? Looking to go to one of the big 4 but concerned that my boss will not speak well of me when I give notice and if he knows someone wherever I end up applying… mid-sized Rocky Mountain market.

Currently SM in Deloitte leading data engineering and ML teams for commercial clients. Looking for exit ops to Amazon/ FAANGS and other cloud compnies. What type of roles i should target. I am comfortable with Program Management or client focussed delivery roles. I have been in architect roles but not doing hands on tech work for last couple of years as i manage large teams doing that. Since these companies are product heavy what type of role that Big4 SM generally transition to ,in these orgs.

Between submitting my app, talking to the internal recruiter and having an interview, it was like a 2 week process. But I haven’t heard anything back at all since the interview. Did I get ghosted, or should I hold out hope for an offer? Should I reach out to the internal recruiter about the status?
