You will be promoted when your ready. It’s that simple. Manager is not an easy job, where you just join and your ready lol.
Usually 2 years. If you demonstrate you can handle full on management meetings with senior executives, buyers, investment bankers, private equity firms, i’m sure you will be promoted faster. All this stuff comes with experience and honestly not as likely at a big 4 because of how large the deals and clients are. ie, A new senior is unlikely to demonstrate the manager skillset their first year. Maybe mid-tier as deals are smaller, but multi-billion dollar big 4 deals it’s tough. If your not demonstrating the skills necessary to be a manager, regardless of big 4 or mid-tier, your not getting promoted early.

Most will always pick big 4 over mid tier, pay is the same if not more at big 4. People always argue better wlb at smaller firms, but honestly your in FDD you didn’t sign up for wlb.
