Does base vs bonus really matter? I have an offer for 160k with 15k sign on. I was hoping for ~180k bonus (without sign on). But doing the math, it comes out very close to as if I’d have a 175k base without sign on? Maybe I used wrong tax rates? Anyone can help?
Is a 10% salary increase for a promotion legit? I will probably renegotiate and ask for 12%...
Can you guys help me with the fixed in-hand salary calculation for monthly basis? I have 1.5 Lakhs declared in 80c.
Thanks in advance!

I am trying to break into healthcare consulting. I don’t like WFH full time so I’m looking to travel. I have my MHA and 3 solid years of healthcare experience (1 administrative consultant, 1 management role, 1 project manager). Any recommendations on consulting firms that are hiring? Expected salary I should ask for? Referrals would be helpful!
Hi Fishes! Need your guidance- have an offer from a small size biotech for associate director of portfolio.
RSU: 50k vesting over 3 years
Current compensation (in consulting): 148k + 15% bonus
I feel the offer is pretty low. Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Would you accept a counter offer from current employer when trying to resign? My manager asked me to delay my resignation while they put together a counter. I don’t expect them to match my new comp, but will hear them out. Interested to hear what others would do in this situation.
Has anyone worked at Lubrizol? Would love to know how compensation is there compared to other places.
Hi fishes, can someone tell me the salary range at American Express India for entry level analyst roles

What's the future of SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) I have been offered this role.
PSA: You can get an eCard from a public library just by using your email, and then you have access to 1000s of books for free!! I can’t believe how much I used to spend on kindle 🤭
Has anyone heard of business value consultant roles (my understanding is that they work closely with sales)? Is this a common group/role at tech companies and is it highly regarded?
Didn’t know about “demisexual” until I take this survey today … I like the definition 🥰
Co-worker of opposite sex sent me a meeting invitation to a one-on-one Wine and Dine. What should I be expecting?
Internationally relocated 🐠: did you get relo in your offer? If so, how much? (Plz include where you went to/from!)
I am working as SAP FICO consultant at Infosys. I have 4+ years of work experience. Worked on CFIN migration, S/4 , ECC support projects. Can anyone please help me to get referred in CG.

Texas biglaw: which firms are offering flexibility (at least two days a week of WFH) going forward?
My firm is saying “we aren’t mandating a return but once vaccinated we encourage you to be in the office frequently.” I am still going to WFH twice a week until yelled at but would like to lateral to a firm that’s more flexible.
What comes first, RRK or GCA?
Hi fishes, I will be getting promoted to IN3 in a few months at Walmart Bangalore with 2YOE, how much should I negotiate for base pay? Current base ~15

Additional Posts in Product Management
We know what makes an effective product manager. What makes an *ineffective* product manager?
I am a data scientist and I really want to transition into PM. I made the mistake of taking a job in tech as a DS after KPMG, and now have realized that actually my interest lies in PM work. How do I transition?
Any recommendations on product related resources you enjoy and find useful like books, podcasts, people you follow on different platforms? 📚👩🏻💻
When creating OKRs and looking for metrics to shoot for, how do you calculate what said key results should be? Are they idealistic in nature, or should they be rooted in the work that you’re going to embark on? Then based on that work, a scientific deducing of how that work will effect the key result in the direction you’re trying to go? Essentially, I’m trying to see how calculated one must be.
Am looking for a change and targeting TC of 350k+ on the east coast. have a total experience of around 15yrs and as PM 6yrs. Except for FAANG which other companies can I try?
What resource have you found to be the most helpful when on boarding new Product Managers?
My team has been developing a stealth product. PMs are a target user for us, so if anyone struggles with too many meetings, spends all their time coordinating between people, has a hard time getting buy in, or constantly feels out of the loop, you might find our app valuable. You can sign up at https://umeo.com/meet (if you use the referral code “fishbowl” I can probably get you in)
I would love feedback from you all!
I am going to interview with Affirm for a PM position. I wonder if there are any Affirm PM here that I can connect with to ask for some questions about the process and how to prepare for it. I appreciate your help.
Recently hopped from the business side onto a PM team. Does anyone have any good resources they would recommend on developing good PM skills like writing briefs, roadmapping, scoping, etc?
I’m a senior product manager and I’ve been trying to get a role at google, Uber, Lyft, TikTok or Facebook. It’s been tough to even get a message back from recruiters. Any advice for someone trying to work for some of those bigger companies ? Should I take some specific online course to stand out ?
I just took over a SAAS product where I own P&L with 800 B2B clients with so much customization that it feels like 800 versions of the product. The product was acquired and there are a ton of process improvements needed, tribal knowledge and start up mentality. I have a PO who does the day to day work with the devs, but otherwise it’s just me. I’ve been a PM for 15 years and never felt so understaffed. I’d like to hear the level of responsibility you each have and how your team is structured.
I’m taking a new role as Product Manager as one of the PMs has quit. What are the things I should collect as part of transition?
Roadmaps, stakeholders, etc?
I want to transition to product management from project management. Any tips would be appreciated !!
Our company went through an exercise of redefining product roles - from business analyst, product owner, product manager to assoc pm, pm, senior pm etc.
The concept is everyone with same skills - with different competency levels.
My question is - what about interest? I am energized by execution, not so much strategy. Is product management for me, or should I be looking at other career paths?
Note: I am not overly ambitious, but do want to have a good salary for my retirement savings😉
How have you navigated periods when you’re acting more as a TPM than as a PM? Lots of time spent on reactive work recently without enough time to invest in product strategy and what’s coming next.
I’m currently in general project management but want to transition into a product owner position. I am a certified web developer, SSGI Scrum Master and have previous sales experience. No degree. Any tips on how to transition? What certifications should I look at? What should be my next move? Etc..
Heading into final interviews at 4 companies…
1. What should I do for references? My company doesn’t know I’m interviewing, so who do I ask, when, and how? It’s not a question of who would give positive reviews, but rather who is appropriate to put in that position knowing they won’t want me to leave.
2. IF I get multiple offers, any tips on how to negotiate higher salary or more equity? I’m excited about each company so I don’t know how I’d rank my preferences if the offers are similar.
Folks , I’m considering kicking off the job application process again. I feel like I can’t reach my potential as a PM at a consulting firm. For one, we have no access to user data, usually our users are clients, and we rarely get to interface with them. As a result, I don’t have any experience in A/B testing, or proper user experience research. Is this an extremely important skill? Should I look to jump sooner than later ? There are other skills I get to aggressively build here, however
Real Talk: everyone complains about how many apps they send in and how many interviews don’t pan out in product. I just landed my 2nd product role in 2 years with pretty minimal interviewing. I wasn’t interviewing with or looking for a role at a FAANG or the latest greatest almost unicorn but I know what I want. I don’t think I’m great at interviewing but overall (even outside of product) I’ve gotten offers with not that much work tbh. What’s your experience here?
New to Fishbowl?

I actually explored the same thing. I am on $170k so I had a minimum of £100k, but tried to go for £120k. I found it extremely hard to hit that range. Fintech is the only ones that will consider that range (had one good offer at Revolut). Most offers were £90k-ish, which I found ridiculous since London probably has the same living cost as many big US cities. Maybe not NYC of SF, but definitely comparable to Chicago, DC etc. Try Storm2 as a recruiting firm.
Any chance you could share your Revolut offer? I am assuming you were offered a PO (technical) position. I am looking to receive my offer shortly and wanted to compare. Thank you so much in advance!
Agreed, UK comp is woefully low compared to the US
