Warm places to travel for December break. Any recommendations?

I applied for my first social security card two weeks ago, in Brooklyn. I have the receipt. They told me to call them when I didn't receive my card within two weeks. When I called them today, they told me I just have to wait a little bit longer. It stresses me out, as this SSN is my gateway to a lot of things. (credit card, getting paid by work, etc).

Does anyone have experience with this? How long did it took for you? I'm on a O1 visa.

Thoughts on travel to Paris in late Aug given the current travel chaos in Europe? I just recently flew what shouldve been a 2 hr flight with a layover and ended up with a 48 hr hour ordeal and lost luggage that was only returned to me 2 days later. Im a glutton for punishment clearly but would love to go to Paris in late Aug and I am planning on direct flights only with Air France. Any experiences with CDG or Air France lately? Alternative would be a midwest road trip

We are thinking of pulling our 8 month old out of daycare due to delta (and no vaccine mandate) and having a nanny until she gets the vaccine. Our cleaning lady expressed interest (totally trust her) and could do it two days a week and she may have another friend do the other three days. Is this a bad idea? I trust the caregivers, just in terms of logistics. Also, there will likely be a language barrier. We are also thinking of doing a nanny share but it’s hard to find another family.

Can't wait to spend Mother's Day dreading my Monday morning flight to Detroit and drive to Toledo. Good god

Chase ultimate rewards:
So I found out chase ultimate rewards messed up with booking my vacation return flight. They forgot to get a ticket issued. I talked to customer support and the “best they could do” was book me on a different but similar flight, I would be getting back at midnight instead of noon and giving me 7k points for the inconvenience.

For future reference was I entitled to more since that this error messes with my initial plans?

Stay until 5PM
Travel back to Austin (over 2 hours at this time)
Get home 7:30PM
Kids are in bed at 8PM.

I barely even see them anymore and this schedule simply isn't sustainable 😔

I moved my neck at a weird angle, and now it’s been extremely stiff for two days. I can’t completely move it left to right, or down that much. Bending down hurts a lot and most movement causes pain.
