I think Buffet is a genius, so I’d adhere to just about anything he says. I think 5-10% of your portfolio allocated toward international equities is fine though.
It is also worth noting that Buffett changes his mind and evolve his strategy over time. He is known to only invest in US companies. But he put in a big check for an Israeli metal company. He said he doesn't invest in technology companies, but we all know in recent years he has done that. So don't take something he says decades ago and make it your rule of thumb for investing.
Makes sense to me. Have been doing that. If you’re still feeling FOMO, suggest a robot advisor
Lol robo advisor is garb

I generally agree with this. Look at the some of the biggest companies like Google, Walmart, Apple, McDonald’s, Coke, Disney, etc. They all have international exposure.
OP that depends where you are from and your understanding of foreign country’s market. I am not Warren Buffet and I don’t have that kind of money. However, I am an Indian and understand Indian markets extremely well. Sure, by buying a share of Walmart, you are investing in India too and the consolidated report will reflect that but personally I would like diversify my investments as much as possible. If things go south in the States then I will have Indian investments to fall back on and vice-versa. This will not be guaranteed by US investments alone.
I have a growth portfolio, which includes around 22% international equities. The more diversification to reduce volatility, the better.
