You should still have a plan to kill everyone you meet
Pretty sad that the stereotype of veterans is that we’re all PTSD ridden sociopaths. I hate all the ‘Thank You for Your Service’ and ‘We need to help our Heroes’ talk from people who keep us an arms length away
I agree that some vets act entitled, but I know plenty who are legitimately damaged and don’t say a word. Also, more than a few of my friends have killed themselves.
That being said, the “no fireworks, a Veteran lives here” signs are embarrassing.
My principal once told me "well you were in the military and still seemed to have turned out ok, so I guess I shouldn't worry about my kids as much."
Should’ve shoved a knife hand in his face and started screaming. Gotta keep expectations low for the rest of us.
You must have an incredible line of bullshit.
Should’ve just started doing push ups...
BM1- you can thank all the bro-Vets of past decade that walk around with their “Dysfunctional Veterans” T-shirts, their Veteran Outrage Syndrome and moral superiority at anything civilian
Can we please all stop being the special unique snowflakes we all hate. I got asked to lead a major city centers veterans network but I don’t want a part of it because of this garbage. I’ve been deployed multiple times with the USMC, and I still only know a small tiny % of the vet population that have seen anything worthy of ptsd and while I’m not an expert and don’t want to diminish real claims... veterans when they separate become the people they hate. Wish I could be more open minded but I can’t as it’s ridiculous.
Depends on who told you that!
@PM1 I think you missed the mark on this one. Vets are not better than anyone, but it sure is easy to walk around and act like it. No one is talking bad about veterans here, just sharing unique experiences about being stereotyped. You know, because we “get to act better than everyone."
Many of us ARE vets....and many of us cringe at some of this veneration of the military.
You should read this @PM1

Yes, because those are the only things that make the veteran population standout. You are a special kind of stupid aren’t you?

Found one!
Good job removing all doubt.

I think one thing is being deployed another is being deployed to an area where your buddies die left and right and you jump at harsh sound when you come back. My ex was in the military for over 20 years the sweetest person but I still notice when he is thinking about those times. Please stop talking bad about veterans. I don't care what they do today. The price is payed and yes they get to be and act better than civilians if they want to.
I do... people are Assholes whether they are veterans or not. I don't think that being in the military made them that. That's just they way they are. it damages the image. Yes. But the good ones are wayyyy more than bad ones. Anyway point is , yes some are bad. There are stereotypes because it's true. Is good that people openly talk about PTSD before it was such a taboo and also now.
By the way
Is good that you cringe at the "veneration" is not supposed to feel good. It's a duty.
