Was casually talking with my hairdresser and she asks what do I do. After I said I'm a FA she said "yeah, you look like one." So now i'm reevaluating all my life choices.

At least she didn’t say you looked like a banker 😂

I'd take it as a compliment. The majority of FA's I've worked with/met have been attractive, well dressed, well groomed, professional, and intelligent. Of course there are exceptions. Most industries have gone more casual, but here we are still in a suit everyday. That's telling. So long as the above descriptors are applicable to you OP, I'd keep on keepin' on.

Lol.. what does an FA look like ?
What does a hairdresser looks like ?

Hope you don’t take what she said seriously. Keep you self image in check. We have a very important jobs as an FA.

There’s definitely a “look”... I do not fit that look personally, but there is a definite look.

I feel insecure that my partner (I'm 25 shes 23 straight out of college) was invited to a exec/board members Xmas party at her current firm.

She got it as she manages to have a 1 on 1 with one of the board members of that firm only. Should I be concerned? No one on her team is going it's just going to be exec/board members of the firm apparently.

At what point should I be worried about my ability or inability as a lawyer? I’m a first year, but feel as though my office has very high expectations from top to bottom. Often placed on cases alone with a partner who is too busy to answer questions. Other times mid-levels sort of deflect when they don’t clearly communicate what they want done (e.g., “draft part of this brief” and gets upset when it isn’t up to snuff). Mainly, I am worried that I am failing at this and am not a good lawyer.

So, this is a very personal kind of question, but I hope people relate and can provide an answer. I am CLOSE friends with a peer on my team and they an awful engineer and I'm always showing them up, simply by doing the right work. It's getting to a point where I'm getting bogged down by them, and I don't know if our manager will notice or if I need to do something to bring it up. What's the ideal solution for this? Maybe a stealth approach I haven't thought of? I don't want them to be fired...

The company has this rule where we have to check customers' IDs if they are buying anything age-restricted (alcohol, etc.) I hate it because customers get super mad at me and one of them told me "if you think I'm too young then you're stupid and don't deserve to have a job." It's not my policy guys, it's the company. I tell people I would get fired if I didn't do this and they never believe me
