There’s no Westin that’s 80k anywhere in the world besides the all inclusive one in Costa Rica that’s 85k a night. 80k isn’t even a current redemption amount.
That’s points haven’t changed since March when they reshuffle categories.
This should be at the top
All y'all lucky enough to travel to places with Hyatts.
Meanwhile here I am giving Hilton a hard look
I use to give Starwood all my business. However, the Marriott merger open an opportunities for other programs... if you are lucky enough to have Hyatt in your city go that route.
They're changing points for peak vs off season starting in September so we think they're high now it'll be interesting what those "peak" will look like come next month.
Also, if youre thinking of booking anywhere on points within the next year book before Sept 14 so that way if it does go up you're already set (but only for 3 bookings) but if it goes down you can reschedule (just beware of cancelation policy)
Yup I’m Hyatt guy come Jan 1, after more than 20 years of loyalty to SPG
I might consider switching to Hyatt too. This devaluation is insane....3 years ago, 500K in points got me a week and a half at a nice resort. Now it’ll barely get me a week.
This is a massive problem associated with too many top tier members. I think they under-estimated the overlap in programs and everyone still targets the same properties, but can afford the top top bc they have combined balances. I firmly believe Marriott was the wrong to buy SPG, and it should’ve been Hyatt.
I would run from Marriott to Hyatt now
Yup. I used to think Hilton was insane in redemptions but I earn more points per stay and awards are now about the same as Marriott - I’m now a Hilton guy. We all got bonvoyed!
So seems like everyone here prefers hyatt over hilton? Im Marriott Titanium, around 60 nights this year. Am also considering changing to either Hilton or Hyatt.
I think Titanium is where I would switch to Hyatt or Hilton in that order. No point in going for Ambassador anyway (it’s pretty useless).
Hilton is too similar to Marriott in my opinion. On the other hand, I’ve heard great things about the Hyatt Globalist tiers. Great award availability and you actually get value out of status.
Glad I booked all my St Regis accomodations a long time ago 😎
