Was informed in mid-Dec that EY wants to make an offer(SWE, SF). Fast fwd to today-no offer yet. Recruiter’s last update Dec 3rd week -awaiting leadership approvals. Should I wait or move on?

Hang in there, follow up with HR. The approvals can take time. Do let them know if you are being pursued by other firms, it may help speed things up.
Best of luck.

I have already made it clear to the recruiter about other potential offers. As of now, I don’t even know what to expect in terms of salary. They did ask me for a number which I gave along with some other basic information

I would wait - here’s my reason. My practice lead in Deloitte takes weeks and even months to approve the offers (laziness(. So it could be that

like

I’m in the same boat. I don’t think we’ll be getting anything until next week

like

Okay, please let me know whenever you hear back from them. Thanks and Good luck!

like

Also, we shut down for the holidays until today and frankly at least 30% of my colleagues are out til Monday. I have an SOW awaiting approval and haven’t heard back for two weeks, so I’m sure recruiting is in even worse shape.

like

I think Tuesday is fair. Even Monday, you can preface your message with the fact you know it was a long holiday and the break probably impacted decisions. Good luck 🤙🏽

like

Same here. Got a written right before the holidays but not interested in that role. One consulting firms gave me a verbal, but have to wait until next week when approves are back in the office. A third and second consulting firm; I have one more call w the practice leader and hope to flip it to the offer column.
Good luck to everyone!

I got the range but no official number. Working the level as well. The holidays are tough given so many are OOO. No harm in sending an email and wishing happy new year.

like

I would move on until you get the offer

like

Wait, it took me about 6-7 weeks to get one. Plus, we just had a winter break and the majority of the folks were OOO for almost the entire month and coming back this 6th of January to answer hundreds of emails and catch up

How do you deal with a partner who critiques every little thing and is just a rude person. I am looking for suggestions beyond leaving the firm as I just lateraled, so that is not an option for me. Today, he messaged me on Jabber and said “next time, don’t tell the client we are scheduling a ‘call.’ Say ‘telephone call.’ It is important to be precise.” Besides stupid critiques, he is demeaning and demands I prioritize his work. I have an approved I140 for audit position and I transferred from audit to advisory within the firm. Now my PD just became current. the firm attorney think I am still able to submit 485 application due to similar job duties and same OES code. I noticed the SOC code did change between my two H1b filings. I asked the attorney but they don’t think it matters as similar job duties and SOC codes are linked. Should I worry about it? I still work in the same entity and location, but title was changed.
