Was just let go today due to performance. They said it was because I didn't close a sale in 4 months. However for these 4 months I've been grooming multiple focus accounts that are pretty much a slam dunk at this point. I have multiple quotes on my Directors desk to review before I can present to a customer (worth $500K). These quotes have been sitting there for almost two weeks but the performance issue is on my end?

Maybe I’m cynical but it sounds like they let you go at a point where your GM can close those deals whilst not having to pay you all that commission

I wasn't under at all. If anything I made more progress here than most. There have been countless A.E's that go 6+ months without closing a sale. The company was a start up with a very high turnover rate. To put it in perspective the most senior A.E only has an 8 month tenure. The reason it is difficult to close deals here is because the quoting process is so complicated and convoluted that it can take weeks of not longer to get an uncompetitive quote to a customer.

Leadership also offers no support or training on the literally dozens of applications we need yo utilize daily. Which also puts a hindrance on closing a sale since it is more "learn as you go" culture.

This is horrible. I feel like this is a scheme so that they won't pay you any commission. They are purposely giving you more burdens so that you cannot focus on closing a sale.

Hey everyone, an Amazon Amazon recruiter reached out to me awhile back for a strategic sales position. I just got the denial from them one day after the interview. The recruiter gave me quite the list to prepare and my interviewer literally brought up none of it. 3 questions, tell me about what you do, what’s your sales cycle like and how would you explain cloud in the simplest terms. Everyone has heard the excuse “I’m underperforming because my territory sucks”. What if you can prove that you are objectively being screwed by the territory you inherited? There’s only so much “find a way” you can manage in barren land and it’s quite tiresome to see your peers succeed off of less than half the effort. The conversation with management has been had and, while empathetic to a degree, no solution has been offered.

I’m confident in my sales ability. Where do I go from here?
