Was just told that because I’m a better/ more strategic employee and have contributed more than my team that the expectations for me are higher than for others and that the reward is more work and brand building at the same position/pay. I’m scratching my head here and trying to understand what the logic is behind that statement and where it comes from. Can anyone please explain this to me?

It literally translates to - “We found someone that is willing to do more. How do we ask them more?” 😆

Next cycle your name comes up, theirs may not. Being liked is important, and they like people who work like you.

My next cycle I'm up for SM. More than anything I need four people nodding, "Yes, we like this person." Humans are simple and our work contributions translate to favor. If the right people like you, you're golden.

Could be a stepping stone to promo. It's normal to have to perform at the next level to prove yourself, then get promo next cycle. Your peers may not be at that point in their career path.

Call their bluff tell them you got a better offer and see what they do. All these companies dangle the carrot and try to milk as much from top performers without giving them what they deserve. That’s how they stay profitable

When asked about salary expectations for internships is 50k-60k a good range for engineering roles an ok amount to ask for. I got 60k in my last internship and kind of want to ask for more but I don’t want to get rejected for asking for too much when filling out an application. Any thoughts

I joined JPMC last year mid. I was not give any hike last year as I was told that it’s been just few months since joining. I was given a bonus though (1.5 l)

Can you guide me with what % of hikes can one expect for highest rating? Also what’s the average hike % that usually jpmc offers? Also is bonus related to the hikes % or like 2x of last bonus something?
Would bringing in an offer before appraisal affect my hikes to get better?

Hey guyss ! So I’m a freight broker for a start-up company making 50k base with a $800 bonus every month. My numbers are great , and I always hit my quotas , but I can’t help but to feel like I’m being taken advantage of. Do you guys know of any other companies that are in the same or similar industry that pays more. The benefits are more than fine but I don’t make commission and it behooves me how I make the company an extra 10-20k a week but don’t see anything off it really.

Been with my current company 5 years now. I run my own team but have a micromanaging boss who likes to create chaos for me. He also exhibits stalker like behavior by looking up my family online (addresses, emails, phone numbers, FB/Twitter accounts, you name it) and driving by my house and commenting on things I was doing during the weekend or after work. I am fed up with it and am starting to apply elsewhere. I don’t think I’ll be able to get the same total comp though. More in comments..

Hey FishBowl Friends, so I’m currently trying to break into tech sales/FinTech and I feel that due to my previous work history, I might not look like the ideal candidate on paper but I’m an extremely fast learner and very coachable. I’ve been a manger at a gym, got my degree in finance, worked as a client advisor at a top 3 auto dealer in the nation and now I’m a project manager at a solar company. I love strategy, but I have an offer at another agency to move into Account as Group SVP. They want to "customize" the role for my experience, but I'm afraid it will just be on paper and people will expect me to know things I just won't. I can't afford to be fired. Thoughts? Considerations? Watch-outs?

I live in SoCal and like wearing sweatpants that balance comfort + style.

what I’ve tried so far and didnt like:
Mack Weldon (too tight), old navy and Uniqlo (too heavy).
