Corporate banking is a lot different from investment banking. Investment banking is about raising capital for companies, taking them public, helping them acquire other businesses…corporate banking is largely about approving loans, deciding whether to do a revolving credit facility for a company, helping them with things like payments and foreign exchange…that’s why there’s a difference in pay scale. The work is different.

I understand that, they actually have the same
Base salary in most bank. The main discrepancy is the bonus. Looks like Wells is late to the party and is keeping there employees at pre bump IB salaries.

100k at BofA within corporate banking should be pretty easy right now.

I’m in enterprise credit on the deal team.

Obviously biased, but DB CB is a top contender. Admittedly, we’re nowhere near the best choice in the states for CB, but we really beat out the “JP’s and BoA’s” by leveraging our international status. With DB’s CB division being so much stronger in EU, I’d highly recommend CB here if you’re looking for a change of pace and relocation to EMEA.
