WOULD A DRINK HELP?
By going back in our own drinking histories, we could show that years before we realized it we were out of control, that our drinking even then was no mere habit, that it was indeed the beginning of a fatal progression.

What are you prescribed, are you taking more than prescribed, how often and for how long?I’m obviously not a medical professional, but I’d been Rx’ed high doses of benzos for various reasons, not just anxiety, for longer than I was comfortable with. My doctor didn’t want me to go off them. I was mad I was dependent on them and titrated myself down by watching YouTube videos made by really scary looking people, which is very, very dangerous - don’t be me! That said, I was edgy and cranky for a few weeks but I’m glad I did. I have my own issues and addictions but that was 100% surprising and I would never get myself into that situation again. Your dose strikes me as a bit high for Valium, but not ridiculously high. See if your doctor can recommend a schedule to help you adjust down. If they don’t or won’t, get a new doctor. But be safe most of all.

Best to ask a doctor. You don’t want to mess around when it comes to detoxing. Certain things can be really ugly; no idea if Valium is in that category but better safe than sorry.
