Does Natwest bank pay as competitive as Morgan Stanley Deutsche Bank. I mean Associate in MS and DB ranges from 20 to 30 lakh. However when I tried applying to Natwest expecting 40% hike (30 lpa) on current pay of 21 lakh. They straightway rejected me and said its not in their budget. Is there any financial firm which can pay as competitive to Mumbai banks. Barclays Deutsche Bank Natwest group BlackRock

Have a formal offer at Citi for 120K as an AVP in the NY office. Currently making 92K at my current role where I feel there’s not much room to grow anymore. Is this a fair offer? I currently WFH pretty much full time at my current role which has been amazing, but it seems like Citi would require me to be there 2-3 days in the office per week - and this is something I’m very hesitant about. Thoughts on how to approach this?

You’d be pushing it at KPMG cause they’re going to try to bring you in as an Associate. Promo cycle to Sr Assoc is closer to 3 years now for campus hires and they’ll want you to prove yourself from outside, especially if it’s industry. I’d say you would get closer to 90 with them

They already work at KPMG, doubt they’re negotiating with a K recruiter
I think it isn’t unreasonable. Know some friends with 2 yrs after UG who got tech roles in Seattle and California with bases 95-100. Imagine ny would be similar but I guess it might be less if it’s retail or something

Yep plenty of roles here that are 2 YOE paying 6 figures
Need wayyyyy more context. Industry/company? Location? Current salary? Role?
@D3 I’m in ATL looking at exit Ops. Where did you go?
I just got an offer for BizOps at a tech company for 140k with 2 YOE
Go for it!
Maybe it is in their industry? Probably just need to move on.

Personal anecdote about a somewhat similar consulting comp experience:
Admittedly, this was in 2008 (so likely not that relevant these days, but I'm gonna be an old fart and proceed anyways) a few months after I got promoted from A to C and bumped up from ~$75 to ~$87, but when the recruiter for another consulting firm asked what my current comp was and what I was looking for, I made the terrible rookie mistake of telling her what it was and that I'd been recently promoted.
When I told her my comp expectation was $100, she told me something along the lines of "oh, then we're going to keep you at $87 since you were just promoted."
In the 10+ years since then, I've had numerous recruiters balk at what I believe to be eminently reasonable salary expectations. Sometimes it's the industry itself, other times it's just a cheapskate company. I had one that was trying to recruit me hard a couple years ago for an industry PM role that required 10+ years of tech PM experience, etc...and when I finally discussed comp with them, they told me the ceiling was $85 for a HCOL city. It happens.
I was $100k with bonus of $27k 2 years in. At 2.5 years, I bumped up to $148k.
WRONG
Not too much to ask for, that’s pretty target for tier 1 city and doing s&o, business ops, etc. sounds like the recruiting agency is partnering with non-tech companies

I mean my base at 2 yoe was 85 and then i got promoted into 102. I’m in CA, so not unreasonable to ask for above 100k once you hit the 2 year mark
2 YOE in consulting making 102k. You’re good. In Atlanta none the less

I’m at $122 with 2.5 YoE. Really depends on the companies you’re shooting for, the demand for your skillset etc. market will pay what the market will pay
Ah that makes sense, jumping would do it.
👍🏼
I got $105k at D with 1 yoe at kpmg lol
Nah it’s not too much to ask
I got told that then got offered 120 after the interview
