Moving to Cleveland next month from Columbus for my next role from consulting to the industry. Any thoughts on Cleveland as a city to raise a family and live long term?
Hey there! I’m looking into a move from academia to industry. Higher education is a hot mess and my job has no formal growth opportunities. I am not paid competitively for my role or location. Plus, we just got our first raise in 8 years! It was about 2%. I feel like my passion is no longer serving me and the future I want to pursue. Tips for making the switch? I just had my final interview for an IFS research position at PwC.
KPMG to Deloitte move worth it for 8% raise?
To all consultants out there: I am rather introvert and quite confcall - how did you learn to boost your confidence? Culturally I come from a region where self promotion is seen negatively. You always down-play.
Is there such thing as early promotion in the Big4? If I don’t get promoted this October, when is the earliest I can get promoted?
Anyone here located in the San Francisco Bay Area? Wondering how much you’re making as an EA, years of experience, industry and what city? Want to get an idea on how much I should ask for my raise. Thanks!
Amlaw 100- what’d your raise look like this year? I didn’t hit my hours, but was not far off, and got great performance reviews... then ended up with a 3% raise. Last year was a 7% raise
A&M 🐠 - is there typically a base pay raise in non promotion years keeping up with market, inflation, etc.? I am about to go through my first cycle. Thanks! Alvarez & Marsal
Just finished my first year in Big 4 Tech Consulting. Got highest possible marks and am starting to get frustrated by lackluster learning opportunities (still have not met a soul that I work with in person) and the allure of consulting is completely dead for me at this point. I know the job market at Tech companies is hot right now… but I feel I may be a bit too early to jump ship. Should I wait until the first big promotion / increase for leverage, or is Big Tech actually hiring 1 YoE Analysts?
Sometimes I wish I never learned about this career path. Ever since I have it’s only caused me stress and anxiety. Anything I accomplish is never good enough since I always have to be working towards the next goal, whether that be another promotion, more impactful projects, an MBA.
I’m trying to raise seed funding for my startup. 1M raise. Bootstrapped to date. We have market traction and revenue We don’t have any contacts/connections in the VC world. Any suggestions on how to connect with VCs? Cold emailing hasn’t really worked for us.
Does anyone know if Alexa’s voice is available to use in promotion of an Amazon skill? Or is it a no no ?
I am from public acctg and a Senior for 5 years. I’ve had this conversation on my promotion to Manager and was told I need another year. I feel demotivated and getting frustrated that they do not see me as someone who can be a Manager.
Hi Friends, I need urgent help. Suppose in experience letter my designation is test specialist but in candidate form of EY I gave senior test specialist. Will it be problem? Actually after getting promotion I thought I became senior test specialist so gave senior test specialist in EY form. As next band is for senior people and I wrote as senior test specialist. But later I saw it was test specialist designation in my current company. Will that create problem in verification?
Got an offer to go to another firm for a 20% raise today, brought it to my leadership and they agreed to match it. Today should be a great day, but I just feel really sad for some reason.
Just made AP. Looking for a celebration watch. Have quite small wrists and bought a 38mm El Primero for my EM promotion. Other watches in the collection are a Mark XV and a 70s vintage Omega. Any ideas of available watches?

Question for you sales and saas guys. I work for a fast growing startup and we are billing around 200 K a month. I am in charge of the sales team and our CFO mandates that we collect ACH payment information on every agreement. The problem with this is we have to reel in micro deposit amounts from customers and it feels like herding cats. I’ve worked for three great tech companies and I’ve never had ACH nor have I ever paid for services with ACH. Is this a totally dated process?
I’m interested in IQVIA’s Financial Investors Group. Is anybody open to chatting and potentially throwing a referral my way?

Inspired by the q of what firms are doing right, what are firms doing right for first year associates? Midsized firm, fall 2020 start class delayed to Jan 2021 but some started Nov 2020 to help the business group. Covid meant no "welcome to the firm" happy hour, but I think some got a wine gift box and some got nothing. New fall class just started so I hear the fall 2020/Jan 2021 class is feeling salty/forgotten. What have firms done for first years/ideas to make covid class feel welcome?
How early can I start applying for jobs in Big Law if I’m looking to start next July? I’ve been an Air Force JAG the past four years, and I’m ready to make the switch ASAP.
Hearing from this bowl that Accenture Strategy pays $105k base out of undergrad, vs MBB which at most seems to be at ~100k base atm. Will there be any move from MBB to match this base? Is comp progression slower at Accenture, leading to the short term higher base to be not as appealing? Curious as to others’ thoughts!
