I interviewed for Data Analyst role at EY, it went well and the job sounds great, but I'm a bit hesitant to leave PwC because I really like the firm and I'm just 8 months in my job as an associate at a subgroup of ITS that has some focus on technology and analytics but it's mostly tax compliance.
I do want to transition to data analytics but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to go to another big 4, or maybe just look for a position in industry.
Any advice or similar experience?

Is “associate”, a good level to join in TIAA ?

How did you get burned out doing pmo?
K1's comment literally made me spit out my rice on the keyboard.
Wtf, brings a new meaning to PMO. Wtf were you managing?
(PMO)
I realized I can't work 17-hour days week after week. It got so bad I had to go to the emergency room. I'm done with consulting
Pmo should be 8-6
Lateral or do an MBA?
"PMO should be 8-6"
Now THAT's laughable. Those hours are a fucking dream
Is going to MBB an option? Also, don’t be silly, no one cares about label
Lol y'all are acting like PMO can't burn you out? Well, sure, if you're doing the bare minimum. Consulting is rigorous. I'm sure OP was going above and beyond and contributing in other areas. We also don't know the scope or number of projects being managed. I've been there!
Also, the new op model ensures I will never see another strategy project again
@D2, to be quite honest, I'd rather kill myself than go through that again. When you have depression, your tolerance for stress goes down significantly. I don't want to go through another brutal interview cycle only to get a job where I have to work 16 hours a day on stuff I might not even like. The next time I interview for something, it's going to be for something I actually want
Let me tell you... MBB would have been more of the same. Who cares that you don't have MBB on your resume. Focus on your health, and get out of consulting.
It’s overrated- don’t worry about it
@OP- I started in industry, and I’m going back. My first role out of university was in a technical grad role in a FTSE100 firm - within 9 months I got into a strategy role via an internal move. Use the skills you have now to get into an industry you are passionate about with sensible hours - they exist! And prove yourself there- you will shine with your work ethic, build a reputation and get to move internally into strategy!
OP - going through the exact same thing right now. I hear you, and I feel your pain. I’m burned out, hating myself, have hit depression. This job is not for me 😓 interviewing for other positions as we speak.
What did you do instead? Ops? DD?
Ops
Big M&A projects
And the one strategy project I had also did me in. Unfortunately that project alone probably isn't enough to get me an industry job
17 hour days for PMO? Emergency room? That is not Deloitte, that's not even the client... that spells out bad management in the worst way. Bring this up to HR right now. I can tell you that they won't likely retaliate, and other people working under this individual will be eternally grateful.
There’s plenty of strategy work in M&A. I do nothing but M&A strategy / pre-deal. I’ve done 13 projects in M&A and not one has been pmo or implementation.
