Started at a new firm 3 months ago, first two months was swamped staffed on a huge deal, (my only file) did my hours everything good. July: deal was supposed to close did not due to regulatory stuff but my work stream is done and over and am now really really slow, asked for work to people I had worked with to help them close - nothing, staffed on a new deal , client on vacation so everything is on stand by. I’m freaking out don’t know how to reach to partners/senior associates (ctd in comments)
Anyone else’s recruiters fallen off the face of the earth this week with the holiday coming?
Hi y’all, I need some advice. I went on a vacation recently with my boyfriend’s family and feel uncomfortable around his younger sister. She’s a few years older then me and I caught her just blatantly staring at me a couple times. She doesn’t acknowledge my existence in a group setting like she’ll look at everyone else except me. She didn’t try to talk to me at all until she had to. I would mainly try to start conversation and even then she didn’t continue it. She lives a couple hours away so I
Coming back to work after vacation is pure torture. Idk how parents come back after 16 weeks of leave 😓
Vacation Question- Westin vs W (Paris)?
Has it ever occurred that EY HR system count sick days as our PTOs. My recent sick days at all counted as vacations in EY vacation calendar and my sick day time stays as same.
Any suggestions for neighborhoods/streets/displays of holiday decorations and lighting? Back in LA there were neighborhoods known to have the best decorations and we’d do a drive through it. Anything like that here?
Funniest holiday party moments...
Just got a call from my Mom asking me how to read a pivot table breaking down the vacation itinerary I sent her 🙈 😳
Is it fine to decline a virtual holiday party that goes from 5:30 - 7:00 PM? I like my team but I also don’t feel like staring at a screen for another 1.5 hours longer than I have to.
For those companies / roles with unlimited pto, how does a payout work if you leave and /or are laid off? Receive nothing or some set amount?
I work in a group that has had to come in to the office regularly during COVID (lots of work with original documents and wet ink signatures). It’s real estate and title companies still require wet ink documents. One junior has refused to come in because he says he’s concerned about COVID. We all wear masks, close our doors, and socially distance. We’ve all had to pick up the slack for him. Just found out he’s taking his second vacation during COVID and visiting family in FL. I could scream.
Has anyone flew this week? What is it like at the airports? I’m supposed to travel to North California this week for vacation but don’t know if I should go anymore
How is the proposed tax holiday going to work? You don't pay taxes now but owe it by April 15 2021?
What are some good virtual event ideas for a holiday party? Trying to keep it around $70 per person.
I just realized the company I am about to jump ship to doesn’t have a 401K match or any contribution programs. Would this be a deal breaker? The base salary is a 20% increase. Offer is due @ 5pm today
Anyone know the Deloitte Hilton code?
EY folks- I am expecting an offer and wanted to understand How much time does H1B transfer takes, start to end from attorneys reaching out to you till you receive approval?

Delta drink vouchers...enjoy!
There is a deli that I visit everyday for its salad bar and the guy at the salad bar is so nice, prompt, cheerful and overall great service. But I always pay for it at the counter (not at the salad bar). I do want to give him a huge tip for the holiday season, is this weird if I just give it to him?

I was recently laid off and need to talk to an attorney about my rights and severance. Does anyone know of a good attorney in the area? Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi folks! I am new to interviewing. Any tips on how to prepare for an initial phone interview with a recruiter for a position I applied for? What kind of questions should I be expecting? Thanks !
What if the entire consultant and analyst pool goes on a strike and asks for a Conalyst Union with a lot of reasonable demands in a company like Accenture? Is this scenario even possible?
Anyone book an award stay at Hilton properties? Do you pay tax with the points or just points?
Used to be in a quant group. We had an underperforming staff who we let go. He claimed to HR he was discriminated against bc he was an MBA. To which they responded: that's not a protected class.
Dropping this in a few bowls, sorry if you see it twice. I'm transitioning from teaching 8th grade mathematics at a public school to teaching a 7/8 self-contained classroom at a charter school. Any advice for teaching mixed grade levels or multi subject is appreciated: scheduling, classroom setup, subject order, behavior management, etc. I'm struggling to find my rhythm with only 6 weeks before kids return. Thanks to everyone for your commitment and time, enjoy your summer!
