Watched it last night and I fly to from LGA every week!
I loved the movie
When I worked for Accenture in Charlotte, one of our senior managers was on that flight. He spoke about his experience at our annual office meeting. It was riveting hearing it directly from someone actually on the plane. Some kind of funny things that won't likely be in the movie (they could be?) was that one lady in first class, when stepping out the door, first handed out her laptop bag to someone who was helping her to get in the raft, the bag was quickly heaved into the Hudson and she was safely escorted into the raft. Another thing was that one guy was kind of losing it on the raft and thought that the land was much closer than it looked so he decided to swim for it and jumped off the raft and started swimming not realizing that his clothes were going to weigh him down. When reality struck as he was struggling to keep his head above water, he had to shed his clothes and swim back to the raft he just jumped off of, only this time in only his boxer shorts.
I live in Charlotte. I know three people who were on it. Each of them had a completely different experience... pretty wild to hear about it. I've also been to see the plane at our air museum. Go see it if you get a chance.
FYI The "real" scenes at the end of the movie were shot next to the plane in that museum.
Sames.
@PwC2!!! He's my SM now! And yes, seeing and understanding the transformation that went down him psychologically
The first class lady scene wasn't shown but that guy jumping out and trying to swim was.. It would be a nice experience for you guys to watch the movie having already heard the first hand experience
Thanks P2 for sharing that😀 and gosh I wondered the same thing that there must have been at least one person trying to get off with 'important' items!
