Way to go, MullenLowe NY.🙄 Truly a perfect example of actions speaking louder than words.

They had a ton of long D&I seminars for their employees, hitting hard on their commitment to hire BIPOC leadership. Today, they promoted 2 white guys to GCDs who’ve had consistently bad reviews, and hired another white guy as ECD. Oh! And they’ve told their lower-level, high-performing employees that there’s no $ for raises right now.

And “bad reviews” is a nice way of saying “HR reports”.

Please actually say what happened instead of these vague posts 😫

I got rejected for a role there without even an interview. Please tell me it’s for the best.

100% for the best. That office is a mess.

Not surprising. A few years ago, one of their recruiters told me that if I wanted to get work in the US I should become an art director instead of a copywriter. They said most companies will be hesitant to hire a writer who came from a country where English is not the first language. I’m Indian BTW, and I had already worked in advertising for over 6 years at that point. Completed portfolio school in the US and won several international awards as a writer.

I don’t know about that. I worked there until 5 months ago and out of the 5 or 6 writers, 3 of us were ESL.

Is there a press release or is this internal knowledge?

What’s the scoop???

Uh oh

Weird hire for that role

How do you get your toddler to adjust to new nanny/au pair, especially if you are home with another kid or working? Our 2.5 year old loved our last au pair but always asked to be with me instead. I’ve been home with him now for a few months and new au pair comes in two weeks. I’ll still be on maternity leave till August so I’ll be home with him and infant and au pair…. Just trying to figure out how best to handle this without stressing him too much.

Congrats to anyone who bid high enough on zoom calls this morning

Hello Ladies! I’ve had a strong desire these past few years to switch from the Aerospace and Defense industry over to consulting. I have finally entered the market to search for a new role, and I had a question about benefits. As a newlywed, I would like to start a family soon and wonder which consulting organizations offered great benefits in terms of maternity leave and health coverage?

What countries are safe to visit in Sept/oct given covid?

I know my client needs an Accounting Manager. I know this because they’re startup med device company that has their books in complete shambles. The current accounting team isn’t very strong. How do I let the client know that I would be interested in joining them? They’re not actively recruiting for any position but I know they’d benefit from it. Serious responses only :)

What’s a typical salary for a creative director in Miami (10+ years in advertising, but new to CD role)?

As someone who enjoyed being in a trading role prior to consulting, would you move back? Not sure what the comp would be for a muni bond trader, or if the position is becoming outdated, but trading always excited me.

You started at a new role/company 2 months ago that is +50% your previous TC, a level promotion, and you’re happy with the team and scope. However you’re also currently in a long distance relationship with a SO you love and have been with for 4 years. The relationship is starting to crack and moving abroad to be with her seems like the best decision to kee the relationship. How would you play this out sirs/maams? Ask manager to work abroad and quit if they reject it? Thx for the feedback 😔

Is the hiring slowdown over? I contacted a few firms to inquire about lateral opportunities in late June/early July and was asked to check back in the fall due to hiring freezes. I wonder if I should reach back out or if it's too soon. The news about Skadden's staff layoffs this morning makes me think it's too soon.

What’s the salary for tax senior 2 in NYC?

Deloitte folks. Anyone in ITS or M&A? What’s the salary range for senior? (CPA, NY)

For remote roles if I move around the US a few times does that create a tax headache for the employer or just for me?

Question about credit age and credit scores. If I call up Amex and tell them to open a new credit card and transfer the credit from another card to this new credit line (and cancel the old credit card but keep the old credit line on my new credit card). Would the average age of open credit decrease as a result of both opening a credit card AND losing the credit card I had opened? Or would the age if the second credit card be transferred over.

Does B4 still pay out your 2 week notice if you’re told not to come back for the 2 weeks? I’m giving my notice but have a week of paid personal days and a week of training for the 2 weeks of notice
