It depends. I left for the industry last year. I always tell people that consulting is an excellent option for young grads. You’ll get to experience different industries and different type of work that you would never find in the industry. As you get older, the lack of wlb catches you to you. For me, I left consulting as I started a family and I wanted some routine and secondly I hit my peak (if you don’t have an ambition to be a partner, you should leave when you hit manager). But I wouldn’t trade away my consulting experience when I was younger for anything.

People don’t know that they can make as much if not more in industry while working less and have less stress.
Consulting firms like it that way and even spend a lot of time and effort to propagate the notion that only big $$$ is in consulting (the ever infamous dangling carrot!).

It depends on the team and sub division. It’s rare for me to work past 6pm or before 8am and never had to work weekends. No I’m not new to consulting 😂.
Money and dream exits. Also, advisory at B4 is not consulting. The lifestyle is worth it if you are in strategy consulting. Advisory is just slaving away for 🥜
different with PwC, our advisory is the consulting arm
