Seeking advice on savings/retirement. Since I am a solo attorney like many of us here, I don’t have a 401k, options etc. can anyone recommend or explain the pros/cons between the different options available for the self employed? Best way to set up a self retirement plan? Roth IRA, vs self employed 401k, etc.. not sure what else there is.
TIA
19 days of PTO in the first two years, then 24 days every year after that. 8 sick days, 16 weeks paid maternity leave, and 2 paid volunteer days.
Career coaching through a service like bravely is a really cool benefit! My company has unlimited PTO which can be a gift and a curse.
Certainly. Our vendor Bravely is contracted to provide a certain amount of sessions per employee. It sounds to me like it’s pooled because if you go over we aren’t dinged. But it’s a phone call with a coach who talks about work challenges. So I talk to mine all the time but really I talk to her about strategy for managing my case load.
I love it, it’s an executive coach at my fingertips. I recommend it to all of my managers and front line and the majority say it’s helpful.
It’s confidential though so they will report data on if it’s used but not who uses it. We shared our escalation resources if something comes up that is a policy or legal violation.
We have a flexible time off plan. Unlimited time off mindset is wonderful. No need to pay out when employees leave either. Employees need to feel empowered to take the time though, and managers need to encourage taking time off. Good luck!
Mainly that you have unlimited time off, you are not limited to a certain number of days. You don’t have a balance that depletes like a “pto” plan of let’s say 20 days per year.
