Someone from CarMax hit me up about a corporate strategy role. Anyone have any experience or insight into CarMax corp strat?
Hi! I have around 13 months of exp in LTI. My current project assignment gets over by December. And I want to change role after 18 months. Is it a good idea to continue and jump to another project in the middle ? Or its better to sit on the bench until that happens? If latter is the case, how do I ask my manager to be benched after my assignment? I'm not sure how benching works. Do I get salary? Please help me understand
I was contacted by a recruiter for another Big4 about a month ago during a serious audit, but didn’t have time to reply. My roommate received a similar email this week regarding an advisory position at said firm since they’re apparently hiring in our city. Would it be too late to follow up and say I was in a difficult engagement but open to a call now regarding their opportunities if still available?
What are the odds of transitioning from a Senior in IT risk to a transformation role? Really interested in getting to know that service line a bit better to see if it’s a good fit
Got an offer for SalesForce Consultant role. Base $105k +$10 sign on. Counter offered at $115k. TS/SCI clearance. 10+ YOE. Any advice is appreciated.
Hi, I’m looking to intern/volunteer/freelance WFH; My background is in Communication and Digital Media: I also can assist you with admin tasks. FYI I speak Spanish, in case you need to translate docs.
Back on the market and I’m coming to find two things: 1. Less desirable agencies are the ones who want people back on-site soon, with no wiggle room for remote work. 2. These same agencies want to pay salaries based on COL in the city where the agency is based even if you’re working/living from another market in the interim. Example: Midwest based agency paying Midwest salaries to folks living in places like NY, SF, LA. 🧐🧐🧐🧐
Honestly want to know if I am being unreasonable. My husband and I have worked f rom home since the start of the pandemic. Two kids 100% remote until two weeks ago when school started back up. I had to stop my work at 12:30pm every week day to make lunch for the kids and also made some for my husband to took it to his office nook. I typically don’t have time to stop and eat myself since I’m down at minimum those 30 minutes and I work in a bedroom so the smell of food in there is not desired…
For all the PA exit timing questions (senior/manager,etc) from my experience, I don't believe your PA level is most important. Leave for the right role with explicit managerial duties such as (cont)
Starting a new job on Monday and will be remote for the foreseeable future. Anyone have any advice on how best to make yourself known to execs and other senior leadership while remote?
Any recommendations for a portable second monitor? Ideally something that would fit in a carry-on? Since I’m still WFH, I’m taking a week-long trip to visit my sister. We’ll both be working during the week and I’d like to avoid working only from a laptop if I can.
Any recs for a semi-affordable, last minute get away? I’m still 100% remote, I’m burned out & I need a change of scenery for a few days. I’d plan to go for a long weekend & then work remotely for part & take part completely off.
Looking to relocate to the south-east U.S. to be nearer family. Anyone know of any good agencies/clients hiring senior roles at the moment or will be soon? Ideally one that's going hybrid at least. Fully remote also good, but would like to be in the SE so going to the office would be at least an option. And yes, I've looked at LinkedIn, Indeed, Google etc.
My manager keeps on comparing me with other senior colleague. Like see he is rockstar of the project. Connect with him and work with him. Not sure how to take this on? Sometimes I feel as ..cont
How much does it slow down (or speed up) your career if you chose to be a generalist i.e. not specialize in any one area. Do MBB still hire general consultants or is focus squarely on experience?
Operations & logistics manager or strategic planning exit ops salaries at Uber? Lot of consultants make the jump!
Larger ladies, where do you find affordable suits? My younger cousin is suit shopping for job interviews (she’s graduating this year) and is having trouble finding nice-fitting suits that fit her well
Thoughts on Costco sofa sets / sectionals? Not the most stylish, but looking for comfy and durable and strain resistant to survive baby and dog and extended family. Doesn't need to last forever, but 5 years of enjoyable comfy sitting, sleeping and reasonable use is all I expect. Had a trendy gorgeous velvet masterpiece before baby. I miss those days. 😔 Anyway, any advice, fabrics, or other things to consider?
Has anyone gotten a Scrummaster certification? Surprisingly difficult to find info on the process online. What is involved/required?
How can I become more “okay” with being an average performer? I’m two years out of school and have been considered a high performer so far, but it’s taken a toll on my mental health and I feel anxious most days. I’ve realized that the cost of being a high performer outweighs the benefits, and am trying to loosen up and be more comfortable with coasting on occasion... I’m what people may consider an insecure overachiever. Has anybody here ever had the same feeling?
Any Accenture execs out there? I'm wondering about your views on the culture at ACN at the exec level. Got a query from a recruiter recently and I am curious.
Question on pay: Moved to industry and may have lowballed myself. Currently at 120k (110k + 10k bonus). Is this the norm for ppl 3 yrs out of UG? Already checked Glassdoor but not enough data points
What kept you going when you were trying to break into consulting? I’ve networked a ton and gotten referrals. However it hasn’t translated to interview or recruiters ghost me after the initial screening call saying “they will follow up”. It’s honestly been a very painful process and idk what I’m doing wrong.
End goal in PE career? Let’s say you make it to MD at UMM shop. How is comp compared to let’s say F500 C-suite? I’d imagine both to be 10 - 30M, but a cushier rise in F500. Am I wrong? Just trying to figure out this giant rush by so many colleagues to the buy-side
i just had an excellent review with my supervisors. we are aligned i am ready to be promoted. i will be moving from project manager to senior project manager. the catch; my company has laid off 75% of its staff, and cut our salaries by 25%. timing is unclear, since we work in the live entertainment space. what is fair to ask for? i have 7 years work force experience, am the only one in my position, touch every creative deliverable the agency makes, and updated and streamlined 10+ processes.
The 3 weeks of pto that do not affect utilization are also for USDC? I took a 6 days recently and my utilization went down…
TFW you wake up, see no work emails, and immediately convince yourself you're about to get fired.
I used to think “Go back to your home country” was an insult. Now I actually think it’s good advice. I don’t fit into the bro culture here.
Alaska airlines MVP Gold 75K status in here. I Booked an intl ticket using miles+$200. The flight is operated by AA. Can I cancel with full refund?

Fuckers at Ritz Dubai have a mandatory $500/per person for a new year's dinner. Who the fuck would want that mandatory
Anyone know of any exit opportunities in the Utilities space? Large scale electric/gas for example.
“What’s your process,” I had never really thought about how to articulate that … but I believe not having a good answer on an interview lost me a good job. Now I’ve heard that some copywriters have branded decks or Google slides to represent their process. Thoughts?
