We are starting to explore HRIS systems. Currently we use an AS/400 based system, but want to get with the times. What systems have you loved, which have you hated, and why?

From the systems I’ve been exposed to, I prefer UKG.

Ooh great question!

I hate People HR...didn't like Ultipro but we were running the old version. Haven't really used many that I did like.

It's funny you mention AS/400... Good old IBM! One of my main clients is still using it and upgrading to SAP S/4 Hana and they swear by Successfactors.

Haven't used it personally but I do staff teams who do ERP implementations. Haven't used anything Oracle based but it could be worth looking into.

Let me know if you need any help getting through the discovery phase. I can connect you with some great PM's depending on your needs.

Good luck!

We are currently using UKG, and are looking to transition to Workday. I would recommend Workday over UKG

Namely is great! How many employees are at your company?

I love workday. Oracle and UKG were okay, but find workday so much more user friendly and the backend reporting engine is pretty good

We are still using UKG. My team as well as te others find it very easy to use. I'm curious about workday though.

Depends on the size of company. I implement the Isolved system and also like it as a client and employee.

Folks , I’m considering kicking off the job application process again. I feel like I can’t reach my potential as a PM at a consulting firm. For one, we have no access to user data, usually our users are clients, and we rarely get to interface with them. As a result, I don’t have any experience in A/B testing, or proper user experience research. Is this an extremely important skill? Should I look to jump sooner than later ? There are other skills I get to aggressively build here, however

After graduating college, I worked in a healthcare HR role for 8 months and then decided that industry is not for me. Now I have been in my new role for 6 months in a telecom HR role and am looking to leave as I want to relocate due to the cost of living being too high in the area.
This would be two jobs back to back that I have been in less than a year each. Is that a huge red flag for employers? When is it seen as job hopping prone vs. just chalking it up to being early in someone’s career?

My company offers DTO (discretionary time off with no buckets or limits) For the first time since I started 6 years ago, my boss told me it should be 3-4 weeks off as a rule of thumb. I was taken back because that seems like it defeats the purpose of DTO and in the past I've taken up to 5 weeks without issues. My employees are now really disgruntled and I'm between going to my boss or to straight to HR. What does DTO mean to you? Can they really put limits if none are in the DTO policy?

Has anyone ever had enough of HR and just wanted to do something else? I got sick of the hypocrisy between what HQ publicly says and what they actually do. How do you guys, especially the senior ones, handle this?
