Deciding between two apartments and appreciate some opinions 1: in Flatiron (walk to Union Square but on a quiet street) 2: in Brooklyn Heights (walk to the promenade) Both studios. Similar price. Lived in Chelsea and Gramercy Park. So I’m familiar with the 1st area. Haven’t lived in Brooklyn Heights. The neighborhood itself seems nice but it is close to downtown BK which is very sketchy to me. I’m 27 F. Love both quietness and nightlife. Thoughts? Esp. on the life in BK heights?

Very frustrated. Why is it that my union keeps pushing for closing school due to covid? shouldn't we be trying to help keep these kids in school? I work in an urban district, and the kids of lower socioeconomic status are being hurt so much more than our suburban neighbors. How is this equitable? So I guess my question is, is your union pushing to close school too, and how are they going about doing it? Is there any pushback or thought of the students at all?

I have a car that I bought by taking a loan with Digital Credit Union (DCU). How does one go about selling it if there’s still a significant amount to be paid back as part of the loan? Might move to nyc and wouldn’t need a car. Can someone take me through the steps? TIA

What’s the most exclusive shoe you’ve ever hit on? Somehow I managed to cop the Union Dunks! Got em and sold em for a profit already tho 🙈 other than that I don’t think I’ve hit on anything super rare.

I honestly think we should start thinking about splitting the union. We can make it amicable. Fixed majority states go to either side, purple states vote whichever way to go.

Here we go again. Michigan Billionaire Devs family( yes, the former Secretary of educations) is trying once again to privatize Michigan schools with two initiatives for private school vouchers. Scary thing is it could pass if they get the required signatures. Goes straight to republican controlled legislature who can (and will) sign avoiding a governor veto. So over how how some want to destroy public education and make it a a money maker for companies and investors

I just moved into a 1bedroom w/terrace in Kips bay court (28 and 2nd) somewhat impulsively. My rent is $4,700//month. Is this outrageous or in line with what I should be paying for this area/market? I had a studio in union square for $2,500 that I just gave up to move here. I say impulsively because my lease was ending and I needed a one bedroom to accommodate a family situation. 2nd ave feels seedy…. Anyone know Kips bay and have an opinion on neighborhood / lifestyle / pricing, etc?

I am 29F and my boyfriend and I are planning to get married this year after 4 years of relationship. I am earning 14LPA and he's earning 12LPA. Our families are happy with our union. But all my female friends, who are married (arranged) keep saying negative things like people his age are earning close to 40LPA and he's not worth it. They also keep pointing out that he hasn't done higher studies. For me, none of this matters because I fell in love with him for who he is, not money. CONTD....

For the EO deferring payroll taxes until the end of the year, does anyone think these payroll taxes will be given to workers? I don’t see any employer stopping the collection of worker payroll taxes. Larry Kudlow says people are going to receive extra money in their checks (on “State of the Union” Aug 9th). Steve Mnuchin when asked by Chris Wallace whether employers would pass the deferrals on to employees failed to answer the question (“Fox News Sunday Aug 9th).
