Worked last 12 years for current company. Small family run business to which I am an in-law. I’ve been looking to make a change but the family business situation creates a complex exit strategy. Sat down with owner about one year ago and said I wanted to accept a different job and I was talked out of it. Some nice benefits working here but feel I need a change. Anyone have experience in a similar situation? How can I pull this off delicately?
I’m a Big4 lawyer needing to get out and transition to law firm or in house life. Employee benefits/executive comp experience. Any referrals or any other help from fellow fish lawyers much appreciated. TIA
I just passed 200k in my total investments (401k, brokerage). I know that’s not a lot comparing to y’all but it’s great for me!
Other than that I have a home that I have $210k left and no other debt. TC is $180k as of April. Any suggestions on how to grow investments would be great.
Do you think it’s worth waiting for Black Friday sale for strollers etc.? Or generally there are no discounts on baby stuff. Wondering if I should buy now or wait - baby is due in Jan.
My husband tested positive with covid - despite both of us being vaccinated. He has to isolate from the kids and I which means I am having to solo parent + work. Our kids just turned 2 and 4, so they still need constant supervision. How have others stayed afloat with workloads in similar situations this last year?
I just got back to work two weeks ago after my maternity leave. I hated my job before going on leave and it’s even worse now. My company has never respected boundaries and there is this toxic “work you to death” culture. The issue is the benefits and salary are amazing since it’s a huge company. I got an offer from a smaller company that would provide more flexibility, but doesn’t provide the same level of benefits. I want to take the role, but feel guiltily leaving my fancy corporate job.
Hi there! Looking to possibly make a move. Almost 3 years experience in HR with main focus in recruitment and device management. Even as I have already submitted my resignation a to PwC, I still think PwC has lots to offer to its employees (including my current exit opportunity). The benefits at PwC are pretty amazing - my exit opportunity makes up for it with $ for now.
Retail Manager for 20 years - was with the same company for 4 years. Never written up, never had a conversation about my performance or professionalism. Earned exceed expectations on all reviews. I was terminated for a non- fireable offense (based from employee handbook) and I’m 6 months pregnant. I am speaking to an attorney and have the opportunity to have it reinvestigated. I just want my maternity leave - don’t want to go back it was a very toxic environment. Not healthy mentally& emotional
Is anyone else pregnant and expected to go to in person meetings all of a sudden? Even though NYC is high alert still? I’m nervous about being toward the end of my pregnancy and having to take my mask off to present, or eat, etc. How are you handling?
I want to share a personal story that may help anyone in a relationship, especially those of us who come from low-income/single parent households. I think the realization I had yesterday and shared with my wife literally just saved my marriage. Continued...

Any moms or soon to be moms out there who are self employed/business owners? I stared a firm with three colleagues two years ago and am expecting my first child this spring. We are over the moon but I’m anxious about how I can manage this while not letting my career go down the drain. As a small business owner…maternity leave is not a thing. My husband will take a few weeks off but I’m nervous he’ll go back to work and it will be my career in the toilet. (I’ve expressed them to him!) Any tips?
Told my boss I was pregnant. He asked me how old I was and I said 35. He said, "yeah, I guess it's about time."

What are the reasons to vote Biden solely on the merit of who he is, what he's accomplished and what he plans to do.
No mentions of Trump allowed. All I hear is that Biden is the Anti-trump and that's not good enough. The man has been in office like 40 years. If Biden was a great choice on his own, it should be easy to prove. Please help me understand.
